i think I figured out why the trolls are so pissed this season. It's because they totally expected and were hoping this would be a losing season so they could reinforce the hatred towards the coach and a cause for the team firing him. It's clear as day they are not happy with the team overachieving and fighting.
It's not so much that they hate Kyle Shanahan. It's just that they want to be right.
They want to come to this forum and have peasants like me telling them "Wow, you were right. You knew it. I should have listened to you.".
At this point it's just an ego trip because why would you be mad about a coach and a team having a season like that?
I'm probably dumb but if someone had told me before week 1 that the two stars of the defense would almost miss all the season, the starting QB would play half the season, and almost everyone else will be injured, I would have had a hard time believing the Niners would have finished with a 12-5 record.
I thought that was the whole point of this forum.....debating the 49ers team. Or are we here to sing Kumbya together in agreement like apparently you seem to want.
No one is or should be saying Shany didnt have an very good year. The convo is can he win the SB......and for some that isnt the goal. Its to be competitive.
OK, the convo during this season is whether he can win a SB. Be honest, have you seen anything from Kyle this year that would lead you to believe that he can't win a SB? I am narrowing the scope of evidence to this season.
Personally, and I think I speak for a lot us, what I have seen from Shanahan this season actually gives me more confidence in his abilities. Why, you may ask?
Well, he has cast serious doubt on the perception that he can only succeed with a stacked team, or that the team couldn't perform late in games. Well, these 49ers were generally clutch in the 4th quarter of games, hence the close wins, especially at the beginning of the season. He showed (again) that he can adapt the offense based on the QB and skill players on the field. And during the six game winning streak, he called an offense that carried the defense and the overall team, something that was quite the opposite in portions of previous seasons.
With that said, unless the SB discussion is meant to be a backward-looking convo, what have you (and the other anti-Kyle folks) seen this year that would affirm your belief that he can't win the big game? I would think an objective analysis would actually instill more confidence.
