I hate Kyle? Well that's news to me? I think Payton and Vrabel are better? Again, news for me.

But thank you for telling me how I feel about certain things. Appreciate it.

You post a list of coaches you think are better with both of them on that list. Don't apply the same context to them that you have for Kyle. You've posted about Andy in here many times and how great of a play caller he is….buy you know can't play call his way to more than 12 pts without his golden boy?

you tell everyone how you feel with each post in here about Kyle.

It's clear as day they are not happy with the team overachieving and fighting.

This 100%

don't worry if they lose to Philly this weekend on the backs of this JV squad…they will put the full blame on Kyle.

Absolutely this, great shout.

I don't remember the 2004 or 2005 seasons. They don't hurt.

the Super Bowl losses are core memories and will forever be emblazoned in my brain.

That's the planet.

It might be helpful to learn to express some of these things in an emotional framework rather than trying to present them as facts.

E.g. "I am upset/disappointed with Kyle and will be until he wins a Super Bowl."

Vs.

"Kyle is not a good coach because he hasn't won a Super Bowl."

The first statement no one can argue with: they're your feelings. We can't tell you what they are. The second, while having elements of truth (Kyle has indeed not won the SB), is an attempt to state something objective that upon analysis isn't true: when you look at his body of work with this team, he is a very good head coach. It only gets more muddled with all the spurious comparisons to other coaches in the attempt to justify this claim.

This is assuming, in good faith, that it's not a troll job (which is much harder to assume when the argument is "I know for a fact Kyle will never win the SB so we should just fire him now").

Great post!

It's not so much that they hate Kyle Shanahan. It's just that they want to be right.
They want to come to this forum and have peasants like me telling them "Wow, you were right. You knew it. I should have listened to you.".
At this point it's just an ego trip because why would you be mad about a coach and a team having a season like that?
I'm probably dumb but if someone had told me before week 1 that the two stars of the defense would almost miss all the season, the starting QB would play half the season, and almost everyone else will be injured, I would have had a hard time believing the Niners would have finished with a 12-5 record.

I thought that was the whole point of this forum.....debating the 49ers team. Or are we here to sing Kumbya together in agreement like apparently you seem to want.

No one is or should be saying Shany didnt have an very good year. The convo is can he win the SB......and for some that isnt the goal. Its to be competitive.

My only concern is losing Saleh. It's obvious with him Kyle can focus on the offense/ST misc, etc. more. If Saleh departs we lose that dynamic again.

As poorly as his defense has been i dont either.

"Literally every year"?

Except for 4 out of the 9 years that we have had a losing season. But those don't count.

Ah yeah years where we were forced to play the likes of CJ beathard, Hoyer, and Mullens. Like I said ZERO nuance and confirmation bias.

I mean the great Andy Reid really crushed it with his backups at QB this yr! Mcvay 5-12 when Stafford had a hurt season BUT they're great!

OK, the convo during this season is whether he can win a SB. Be honest, have you seen anything from Kyle this year that would lead you to believe that he can't win a SB? I am narrowing the scope of evidence to this season.

Personally, and I think I speak for a lot us, what I have seen from Shanahan this season actually gives me more confidence in his abilities. Why, you may ask?

Well, he has cast serious doubt on the perception that he can only succeed with a stacked team, or that the team couldn't perform late in games. Well, these 49ers were generally clutch in the 4th quarter of games, hence the close wins, especially at the beginning of the season. He showed (again) that he can adapt the offense based on the QB and skill players on the field. And during the six game winning streak, he called an offense that carried the defense and the overall team, something that was quite the opposite in portions of previous seasons.

With that said, unless the SB discussion is meant to be a backward-looking convo, what have you (and the other anti-Kyle folks) seen this year that would affirm your belief that he can't win the big game? I would think an objective analysis would actually instill more confidence.

Its amazing ..........such a stupid premise of an agrument gets people all wound up.

This isnt about which is worst..... SB lose or a losing season cause neither is not desirable or a choice for that matter. My god.

Are you incapable or reading what Sask wrote? He said that very thing multiple times now.

All based on the premise that Kyle is a complete failure until he wins a ring.

The convo should be can the 49ers win another SB? Can Purdy put the team on his shoulders when needed? Can Kittle have a great game and help them win? Can the defense play like a championship D? All these things need to happen so I don't want to hear can Kyle win a SB. It's not just about Kyle.

To be fair, he laid out exactly what he doesn't like about Kyle a few pages back. You seemed to have went straight into defense mode in your reply instead of really paying attention to what he was saying. Which we all do after many back and forths with posters. We stop paying attention to what is actually said.

My biggest concerns about him were the same. Plus not going for it on 4th and short and running the clock down before ht too.

I think he's improved in all those aspects.

Great post!

Literally what I've been saying….their stance is purely emotional. I have no problem with that, as long as they can admit it.

Not sure which post you're referring too? I did however counter his points on some of that as well in another post

Some people have difficulty with knowing the difference. Social media addicts mostly.
