I guess it's my fault for arguing with a bunch of BETA men who don't care about losing and are happy with 2nd place.

Then, why exactly do you do it? All day. Every day. What exactly do you get out of trashing a team's coach, and it's fans on their forum?

Ahh. A 2nd place medal. Gotcha.

And according to some guys getting to the SB and losing makes Shanahan a better coach than a guy who has got there and won.

Getting the the SB and losing means sweet F all

Getting to the SB means you have the opportunity to win it.

Anything can happen in that game. That's the beauty of the NFL.

Pretending a coach who has consistently put his team in contention to win it all while doing it without the so called uber elite QBs isn't impressive is simply an absurd idea. That's why people are saying you're trolling because it's hard to fathom someone legit having that train of thought without looking to get a rise from others.

What's hard to fathom for me is how someone, who is supposed to be a fan of this team, is praising a coach and GM because they lost the SB twice and two NFC championship games.

No, what I'm doing is praising a coach who is able to get the team ready to play so they have a chance to win that championship.

That interaction you had related your baseball career really didn't ring any bells for you?

I'm not going to claim you were lying or anything like that but tell me. What was a better memory for you as a player? Getting to the championship game, winning all the games to get a chance at the trophy, celebrating the wins with your teammates….or did none of that matter and you'd just as much rather lose all your games so you never get that final disappointment?

As a fan I know I enjoyed 2023 a lot more than I did 2016. I wasn't out celebrating the SB loss but I still appreciated the season we got to have and all the excitement heading into the SB.

That is what people are happy with. The journey. I've said this before.

if you could guarantee me a trip to the SB but with a 5% to win it starting every season I would take it 100% of the time. Because being in the SB even if the odds are slim…are better than anyone who isn't in the SB which is 30 other teams.

Eventually things go your way. And when it comes to Kyle the % has been a lot higher than 5%. There hasn't been a SB under Kyle where we had no hope.

That is not someone I want fired. Sorry if you don't see it that way. You're one of the few.
Guys let's get back to the thread topic. No need for Alpha/Beta stuff unless it's Kyle related.

I will be just as happy as all the rest but I'm not holding my breath.

Im a realist, not a 49er homer and I realize that the Eagles are a superior team. If we win it will be a huge upset but the chances of that happening on the road are very slim.

I think Barkley and Hurts will cave this D in on the ground.

This regime has left me disappointed enough times to not expect anything from them.

Eagles are not a superior team. They are the healthier team. That's the difference.

Come on. You can't tell me the niners roster fully healthy is equal to that eagles roster. Thats ridiculous.eagles are superior in all ways except Maybe QB TE and LB. Eagles have the superior WRs OL DL Secondary RB. Thats the very definition of homerism.

Team includes coaches does it not? So while our player talent isn't the same as the Eagles, yes I believe our team - players and coaches/scheme is better than the Eagles if everyone is healthy.

So if we win it will be because of Shanahan and if we lose it will be because of injuries correct?

Depends on the game. I would never claim something like that before I see what happens but the reality is our roster is missing key players vs a very talented squad. Odds are if we win it's because we came in with a better game plan.

Ah ok. But for context if we do lose it will be because of those missing players and not the coaches right?

If I am pick someone to blame its Lynch. Between bad contracts and big voids in the draft, the talent on the field is lacking.

I agree. 💯

Ooof. Losing at the end was tough man. I've been through a few of those in my time and it really sucks. You work so hard get to highs of highs and it comes crashing down. It's not a good feeling. You don't forget those games, what could have been and what could have gone differently for a different outcome.

And that's just nothing league baseball and hockey. Imagine a Pro Athlete and all the pressure. I guess having millions of dollars helps but still.

Oh here we go again.

Better QB skill wise no? More successful QB? Yes, because he won a ring and Marino didn't.

Also, nice to see guys can insult other guys as long as you don't say anything negative about the team.

Always can tell the guys that never played team sports

Oh here's another one too. Add it to the list. You criticize the team and it means you're not a fan AND you have never played sports.

Im 46 years old. I have been playing competetive hockey since I was 4 years old. Played AAA baseball. I still play hockey and baseball. Played high school basketball and football. Golf and tennis nearly every weekend. Gym and strength training 5 times a week.

You can always tell who has never played COMPETETIVE sports because it's clear you guys don't care about winning.

This is actually an interesting post. IMO it helps to understand everyone has different mindsets. It appears you are viewing this more as a combatant and not so much as a fan. Where the majority here including myself view this more as entertainment from a fan perspective.

Different POVs.

There is nothing entertaining about watching a team you have rooted for for over 30 years lose in a Championship game.

Aren't you 46?

I have said several time I like Kyle the coach. I'm not a fan on Kyle the GM. and yes he is the final say on the draft and player personnel. I would move Lynch and hire a GM from outside the organization. I would want the new GM to work with Kyle work on getting the type of player Kyle is looking for. But stop the drafting a Kicker in the third. Stop the trading 3 first with no idea of who you want to draft at pick 3. Stop drafting RB and WR in the second and third round while for the most part ignoring other position.
Will Kyle the coach stay if he loses the GM role ??? Maybe not ! Will Lynch be happy, no not at all. At this point I think it is time to find out and if he want out that would suck but something needs to change. My biggest point is something needs to change on the team and I think it is a GM and that may cause Kyle to leave. I like Kyle the coach Kyle the GM needs a change.

That's fair. I don't think many people don't agree with our personnel choices need to improve. And I wish Kyle wouldn't go for the respectful win and run up the score a bit 3+ possessions.
The reason we're tired of the Kyle hater trolls is because, of all the seasons to non-stop complain and whine, they chose this one, in which the coaching and overall team focus/discipline has been top notch despite the less than ideal circumstances.

We all remember how much we hated Eagles fans for mocking and demeaning the Niners for losing despite not having any QBs. Getting similar energy from your fans towards the head coach who has led an inspired and resilient team is weird, to say the least, and in the context of a dedicated fan forum, annoying AF.

I think there's like 8 teams looking for a HC right now and counting?

I bet each and every one of them with give up multiple first round draft picks if we were to try and trade Kyle Shanahan to them and then we'd all of a sudden become the preferred destination for most every coach available unless they think we're crazy for trading Kyle

yeah dudes who call themselves ALPHA in online discourse are usually the most fragile people. their posts are usually a projection of insecurities. and they always seem to lack the self awareness to notice this.
