They need to get to the SB and win it doe
They have a better shot at winning it now with Grap. Kaepernick, I'm still a big fan of his, with the personnel he had under Baalke, would never have had another chance at the Big Dance. I'm a big fan of Harbaugh too. I think he has great coaching instincts, but his X's and O'x schemes need more work. The other criticism I have of Harbaugh is his interpersonal and political skills. Kyle is way more saavey. He basically said I want total control, and Jed gave it to him, that's being smart and saavey with the leverage he had.
Harbaugh never took the time to schmooze with Jed because he was utterly focused on winning. Which was what he should have done. But he made some false steps along the way that did him in and soured his personal relationship with the owner. Personally, I think he should have gone out of his way to develop a personal relationship with Jed the way he developed personal relationships with his players. That would have gone a long way to winning the power struggle between him and Baalke. I think if there is a Harbaugh weakness, it's in the inter-personal arena with owners and college administrators. If he ever wants to get back into the NFL, he has to have total control. Anything less than that would not work with his type A personality.
Kyle doesn't have Harbaugh's success, but I think he'll work with Jed and he's set the right tone with the whole organization. He's in charge. Nobody else is. He's only accountable to Jed. I also think Jed and Kyle are getting along a lot better than Jed and Harbaugh did. Well, at least so far. We'll see in the next season's whether that remains so. Also the other positive is there is no more Baalke. That's a big deal in my opinion.
