And them not winning the SB does not necessarily mean it is a failed season. It depends on the circumstances (If they blew a huge lead, lost as 10 pt favorites or something etc).
Beating the Cowboys was the real Super Bowl. Playing the Chargers was just a formality.

Still coach of the year for even getting us to the point where this game mattered. Injuries were always going to catch up to us.

12 wins is still a hell of an accomplishment. Just didn't have the players to get it done today.

The sooner we move on from this era, the closer we get to number 6. Shanahan is not a championship coach and it shows in the biggest movements.

He already has.
Having your starting LT or a WR who can actually separate is a key part of that.
Also helps when you don't let a ball hit your hands and go into a linebackers hands when you're in 2nd and goal situations.
