I've been lucky enough to see every superbowl this team has been in, win or lose. It's stupid to even say that any season without a championship is wasted. Sure, it sounded cool back when we were rolling them out every other year, but even back then, I would laugh at the guys who were dumb enough to say the actually believe that dumb s**t. The real goal is to be in competition for one every year, because if you set the bar at wining one or bust, you are going to burn yourself out busting. The best teams do not always win, it has a lot to do with factors beyond the control of players and coaches. All you can do is show up and do the best you can do, and sometimes factors like luck can be the deciders for the results. My first few years as a niner fan I was spoiled, I think there was one losing season, followed by something like 16 seasons of never losing more than six games aside from a strike-shortened year. We have it good right now, this isn't like the 80's, it's hard to keep a core of players like teams used to, and coached of the caliber of Shanahan just do not grow on trees. Luck will break our way again, and we will get another championship. The best part of having Shanahan is that unlike most teams, when our play caller balls out, we don't have to worry about him getting poached by some s**t team rebuilding. How ironic would it be to win it all this year with a mediocre at best defense kinda like the Colts did with Peyton? There's no scary teams in the NFL this season, it seems to be wide open for anyone who can execute for a string of games. Let's get it done!

Where's the ring?
Do you know what a window is?
Why do you guys keep lowering the bar?
It'll eventually change to "wAiT uNtIL nExT yEaR"
You can't wait for this team to lose, so you can scream, "FiRe KyLe!1!!!!!!!!!!!" from the rooftops. Must be a lonely season not having a bunch of knuckledraggers join you in hating all the winning this team has been doing.
I want them to win the SB.
Bummer you were too young to watch, or appreciate one. I watched 5. They were glorious .

Stop lying. You've already admitted before in the PL that you're a millennial.
Which was probably a lie as well since you sound like you're Gen Z.

I think every whiny emotional "superbowl or bust" fan should go coach youth football.

The cool thing about the early Superbowls was in the confidence of Joe and those teams. Joe always looked like he was in control.

I went to Niner game in NO with a group the year after we won our 5th SB. The Saints fans were all so envious that the 49ers had 5 SB trophies and they hadn't even been to one. It really put things into perspective. We were wearing SB t-shirts and hats and they were wearing bags on their head.

Do you still wear those SB t-shirts to away games ? It's been over 30 years, there's some perspective to that…

I don't go to games anymore. Haven't since we gave up our season tickets in 2004.

What's with some posters' obsession with other posters' age?
Is that some kind of fetishism around here? (looking at you Hoov/GGG)

Because he's lying about his age to try to make a point that others have the loser mentality and not him. While actual people who lived through the 80s dynasty still appreciate what's happened this season even if doesn't end in a SB win.
And that's rich coming from you (obsession with age).
