Funny how we have some fans that aren't happy unless the Niners win a SB while others are happy that we made the playoffs. I'm in the middle on this. They have to make the playoffs before they can even have a shot at the SB so I'm happy we're in. I'm really concerned about this defense though. They don't pressure the QB and they don't stop the run. Both of those shortcomings are going to be hard to overcome in the playoffs.
I'm going into these playoffs with very low expectations. But it's better to get to the dance than miss it entirely.
I mean... we have Brock Purdy, CMC, B-Rob, Kittle, Juice (if he's used right), Jennings... and some other forgotten hungry players with potential to contribute (Tonges, Bourne).
And of course Kyle Shanahan.
So...our offense better give us a fighting chance each game.
If we lose because our defense s**t the bed, but our offense put up a fight. I'm fine with that. But if we lose another playoff/Super Bowl game because Kyle and the offense couldn't put a team away (or put our defense in bad positions)... then yeah, I'll be pissed once again and yall can b***h that I'm being too hard on Kyle and/or Brock (if he goes back to his careless ways).
We are in a tough situation, but still have talent on offense to control how a game goes. If we can put up points, that can help our hobbled young defense.
Anyway these last three (more so the last two) games should give us a good indication of what to really expect. But again it can also be helpful to see what we need to change before the playoffs.
