to make a long story short... YES, THE GAME PLANNING COUNTS A LOT AND SHANNY'S YET TO LEARN THAT..

by the way... The Bengals (2nd Super Bowl) was a better team than us... they just did not have the better coach..

Roger Craig fumbled and gave the game away. We had that NFCCG won. I wouldn't say we got out coached

We got out-coached... Parcells kept that game OLD SCHOOL and we couldn't move the ball.. we were a great team and would have had a 3-PEAT but Casanova George couldn't dictate the game when we had the better players all around.

Just curious, if Roger Craig didnt fumble that ball and the 49ers won would you still consider the 49ers being outcoached?

YES - that game should have never been that closed to begin with.. Bill and Bill out-coached George... Go watch the game and see how the Giants would not allow SF to dictate the tempo..

those turnovers, they are just part of the game and sure it cost games after games, but if you're talking about getting out-coached, you've gots to know and feel it all game long..

LUCK becomes part of the game when one side is being out-coached (IMO)

Craig Fumbling
Norwood Missing the FG
Morten Anderson missing an extra point (minn vs. atlanta)

I don't agree with your logic. The Giants had the #1 defense in the league and was 13-3. To me it was 2 good teams battling each other and the difference was a fumble not a better coaching performance. If it was a decisive victory then maybe i would agree.

well, I'll respect your view of that game .. but from MY point of view, I fully believe that Bill and Bill even with a backup QB and lesser talent offensively, we lost because George was not good enough on that day.

it's no different than the 17-0 Patriot season where Bill got out-coached by the Giant's HC.

No one would bet on such a mediocre program like Minnesota

Why would he start dealing with reality vs making his own at this point?

Or dyslexia.
Folks have to remember what Kyle's strategy was. He was playing for the third possession in OT. He said it himself. That was the reason he went against the analytics, went against every coach(college) before him, he outsmarted himself once again... he thought Andy Reid and the f**king Chiefs would have the same mindset as him...

But Andy Reid and the team had already stated before the season (when discussing new playoff OT rules) if they were in that possession there would NOT be a third possession..and they would go for the win with a 2pt conversion.

I mean do you think they want to face the 9er offesne of CMC, Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, yes even Juice.. when all you need is 10 yards, and you have 4 downs to get them... especially that late in the game? Na....

That is why they were happy as s**t that it is THEIR offense that were given 4 downs, with F'n Mahomes at QB and Reid at playcaller...

You call plays differently on first and 2nd down, because you know you have 4th down. And that can also be a strategic advantage...

Again, although I grew up never watching my team lose a Super Bowl... I understand you are also facing the best team on the other of the league. I understand they want to win bad as well. So if we lost, it would be a bad feeling... but it's the Chiefs and Pat Mahomes.. or maybe some other team. BUT the way we have lost these Super Bowl (and even the Rams title game) f**king drives me nuts... all too similar with us having a lead...not converting 1st downs with our high powered offense + offensive genius HC) to get key conversions to keep the clock running. Ok kudos for those opposing teams for fighting their way back... but now we can make up from those past performances with winning the Super Bowl with a stack team (that we kow we wouldn't have for much longer)... but in OT Kyle f**ks up. He f**ked up...the staff who told him to kick knows he f**ked up... the players (many who were playing injured) know he f**ked up. John knows he f**ked up.. hell Kyle's Dad knows he f**ked up. But you get the feeling no one wants to hurt his fragile ego....and all have to play along around him like that didn't happen.

Anyway I don't might facing hard truths like this in the middle of the week, even if it comes off as negative vibes to a winning season, but obviously gametime it's all positive vibes.

This poster has me blocked, but this is a misrepresentation of what was said that's been made by other posters as well.

The decision was made with the consideration that it was possible there would be a third possession, with the team in possession of the ball having a massive advantage in a sudden death situation. It should be obvious we weren't playing for a 3rd possession as the goal would have been to score a TD on the opening possession and stop the Chiefs.
