49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

The rams roster is far more reminiscent of our 2011 squad + a real QB (sorry guys Smith was not) and much better receivers than we ever had. Mcvay is the real deal and they have a great coaching setup as well, but lets be real that roster is great and has a great coaching staff supporting it.

Hoyer was horrible, but nobody expected that lol I think Kyle has done well with CJ tbh. This teams need a couple years of good drafting and free agency before we are playoff caliber.

LOL, he deserves all of the praise he gets.

He also inherited a far more talented roster. He walked into a situation where they already had their QB, and a vast accumulation of high draft picks from all the losing years. Baalke ruined our drafts and turned a roster that went to 3 straight NFC Championship games into an expansion franchise.

Shanahan will be every bit as advertised once they get another year or 2 of bolstering the roster with talent.

Still on track for the 2020 playoff run.

Just remember this is still the guy who couldn't run the clock out up 25 points with one quarter to play. He also gave hoyer 5 games before realizing he wasn't the answer when it was obvious by game 3.

It seems there are only 2 camps. Those that see him as the savior and those that see him as having one of the biggest meltdowns offensively of all time.

He lies somewhere in between and time will tell if he's actually a good coach or not. At time play calling has looked decent and we have been competitive and at other times we have been completely outmatched.

You see Atlanta this year? It was a fail on Kyle's part, but the only reason they even looked that good and were in that posit in to win a SB was because of Kyle.

Also, you don't think we aren't outmatched because of the talent dfferential? When you have this kind of disparity, you will get inconsistency. When you have this kind of talent disparity and very few players you can truly rely on, this is the end result.

This is the third year in a row that excuse has been used. The roster sucks, if the team had zero injuries, the roster would still suck. It is not Kyle's fault.

That's the whole point isn't it. They are ripping on Kyle but providing nothing to the conversation. No meaningful criticism that can be argued. No point to anything they're saying. Complain about something tangible so it can be discussed. Otherwise go back to bringing down the mood in your personal lives. Pessimism is an emotion not a philosphy.

Edit:While it seems we disagree a decent amount. I feel like you are at least genuine in your opinion and you don't run an hide when your challenged on it. Makes me believe you aren't trolling like a lot of the negative poster on here. You got my respect woolick.

i understand we have the injury excuses and the young players excuses and the fans who are not really fans cuz they are upset we have one win excuses

While the past three years and the pre-Harbaugh years have made me skeptical of the York's leadership, I am not 100% negative. The team has a ton to spend on FAs and good draft position without a need to pick a QB. The roster can be improved quickly if they make the right moves loosen the purse strings after years of going cheap on the roster.
