There are 2 months between the combine and the draft. Many players have a pro day as well. That gives several opportunities for Kyle to meet and have a one on one with players he's interested in.

KYLE no nothing about the Draft... the guy fall in love w/a certain player and how he can use him at certain plays, then becomes clueless on how to use w/other plays..

I dunno, I think being there and getting a first hand look of these guys simply to get a head start on the drafting process wouldn't hurt but I also agree there's not much really going on.

Or he could just watch film on names scouts have given to him because by now they know what he wants.

Sure, and that's what he'll do. But being there affords the chance to be much more involved than just linear film watching after the fact. I'm not "trashing" Kyle on this to be clear, I'm just offering my personal opinion. Me I am a hands on guy. I just think you can see small tangibles and things like how a guy carries himself and acts around others. Maybe seeing something small you like in some guy you may have not looked at as much that was not on film. Or maybe you see somethings you don't like on a player and put a guy you wouldve looked at later more on the back burner.

Again, I'm not going to sit here and act like it's a big deal to me, it's not but I think getting an idea of players as an entirety and being there would give you a fraction of head start compared to watching it on film later. Just my personal opinion, not hating on Kyle at all on this particular issue.

If we're being real...we don't want Kyle making those types of judgments given the results from HIS guys.

I think there have been a handful of draft picks who have the Kyle stamp of approval all over them from all the information we know.

Joe Williams - we had him off our draft board and Kyle wanted him
CJ Beathard - not only was he the QB Kyle wanted out of that draft but we traded up into the bottom of the 3rd round so Kyle could sleep better
Dante Pettis
Deebo Samuel
Trey Lance

I'm sure I may be overlooking a couple.

But out of that bunch clearly the only one we hit on was Deebo and I think the miss on Pettis changed or at least impacted what Kyle looks for in WRs.

It may be smarter for Kyle to hang back and let the scouts/Lynch feel out these prospects. Let Kyle concentrate on what he's good at - the film and stick to the offense more.

Let Saleh/Bradley call the shots on defense.

Off topic kind of, but Joe Williams and Dante both could've been really good players if they actually would've cared for the game. I'm pretty sure Dante is still in the league and is serviceable but I don't think football is/was(maybe he's matured) his main passion. I don't think it was the lack of talent for either or.

Both guys were drafted way to high though no doubt. Deebo was a good pick though and he gets a ton of flak for it but like you said he was a Kyle pick and he punched him to be an offensive weapon. I personally don't necessarily think it's Deebos fault teams adjusted to Kyle's schemes with him. He was never just a WR which he's just above average at imo.

HOW deceiving is the bold statement?

Tell me how many players busted and boomed from the year he started drafting here?

It's a literal fact so I would say not deceiving at all.

But you are only allowed so many visits outside of the proday and combine. Hell, you're only allowed so many interviews at the combine. To me it would make sense to be around for the interview process. This year had he come in on just Wednesday, he'd be able to talk to any/all position groups. Wouldn't even have to be here for the workouts. No reason he couldn't give up 2 days to there.

End of the day it's not a huge deal. 1 or 2 days of your time to talk to different prospects I don't think is asking too much. I will say, if he couldn't bother to come to these kid's biggest job interview they'll ever have, maybe he shouldn't have final say or a big say on what we draft. Not sure of the dynamics I'm just saying

There's so many ways to meet or get info on players now, the combine just isn't the same anymore. More and more blue chip players are deciding to skip it.

if Kyle is tied with the most, that automatically puts others who are not tied with having more busted players

I don't have to tell you anything. You have google, use it.

What I am telling you is you look absurd claiming Kyle knows nothing about the draft when under his watch we've been tied as the best team in the whole NFL at drafting premium impact players.
