Just needs to get over himself and adjust to what the defense gives him. A loss should be a reflection and blow out losses should be a wake up moment to see where he's falling short. You can't just say they will play better next time. The Ravens kicked the crap out of them and now are talking s<%t. The old time 90s Niners would come back and shut them up. I don't see that fire in Kyle. I do however think Kyle is one of the best coaches out there but he needs to get better.

They don't play them again, unless it's in the SB… so I really don't get it.

The long gone 90's Niners lost plenty of ugly games as well.

The old time 49ers got their asses beat big and often. Lost multiple playoff games to the Giants. Got creamed by the Vikings when they were the #1 seed in the playoffs. Lost year after year to the Cowboys. Repeatedly wrecked by the Packers.

Every team gets their ass kicked badly once awhile, it's a part of football. What defines you as a team is how you respond to it.

Nope, it's only KS. Every good coach goes undefeated every year in the regular season and playoffs.
Kyle Shanahan is very good for offense score and good calling plays. The problem is one for failed at Superbowl championships on February 2024?!? He need focus his mind about little cheat code for wins games at final championships. Why not?!

I have that weird feeling that Kyle did playcall a certain way to not show his hand if we were to play them again in the SB
The guy is so stubborn or totally out of the box that it wouldnt surprise me if he did that on purpose
Who saw it coming ? 45 passes and 18 runs… wow
He wont do that again in the SB
While i think the Ravens gave their best shot and we'll be ready if there's indeed a sb rematch

Shanahan is the type of coach who will always tease you. He can get to #2, #3, #4 best team in the league. But will get bounced in the NFC Championship game. Or the Super Bowl. He can beat up on weak teams, moderate teams and overrated declining teams. But the BIG GAMES against BIG TEAMS he folds. He will get you close and never there. 0 wins and 5 million losses when behind tells you a lot too. His teams fold under adversity. No in game adjustments. He comes out and throws, throws, throws against the Ravens who have a fierce defense. The run was working with CMC. Some sweeps and end arounds with Deebo would have been great. But not even a try. Smashing the ball and committing to the run especially early would have been a different game.

Yep. He's a regular season champ, and the masses rejoice in that. We'll get bounced from the playoffs and a lot of ppl here won't be clamoring for next year.

Agree 💯% with both. I hope Kyle's got humbled a little and decides to be a bit more conservative versus being a bit of an arrogant SOB and keep throwing into the teeth of a defense geared to stop the pass.

At least I hope so, for our super bowl chance's sake.

Another year of coming up short. I just don't think he can or will do it. Kyle just won't adjust to the game.

Its a slow process, he's moved from smaller backs to bigger backs and offensive lineman after about 7 years . Unfortunately Brocks two years of NFL minimum wage will soon be over before our next #6🏆. I hope he adjusts faster than that.😵‍💫

I've said many times Kyle's playing Madden running players into the ground as if they were avatars. He won't/ cannot make adjustments on the fly. His biggest issue is he believes he can scheme around offensive line weaknesses. I just don't know if he can win the big one without being able to adjust when his game plan is figured out. Hopefully he can change number 6 depends on it. The window will be closing after next year.

Agree 💯%, his offense is *VERY* heavy on the ground. He relies on his ground game to power his offense. YET he neglects to draft or develop offensive linemen that is KEY to powering his ground offense. Weird mindset, if you ask me.

Having said that, his offensive scheme is still a good one. Play keep away on offense and take away on defense. So his offense isn't a quick strike kind of offense like Miami. They don't have a Tyreek Hill kind of WR. His WR's are more like run blockers and his offense is a very ground and pound oriented scheme with passing counters. If anything, his offense is much closer to the old ground and pound teams pre-west coast offenses of the past, because he's so run heavy. (more akin to the run heavy Air Coryell offenses of the past, than Walsh's short passing). He's one of the few coaches that still employs a fullback - for example. I think if he can start to prioritize the offensive linemen, he'll have much more success specially with his kind of ball control ground offense.

Exactly....I was thinking Air Coryell with Ayuik and if Purdy would have had any time at all they could have spread out the Defense to allow the typical Shanahan zone read offense. If they improve the line and he can switch away from his standard play calling they will confuse the defense and win against great teams. He may start to see that and when they are stacking the box like Ravens did, change to long ball, then power run game. Rocky changes to south paw and confuses Creed lol 😆

Agree, as NC said - ShanaLynch can evaluate offensive line talent, they just don't prioritize it. If Brock is given the time to throw, he's deadly with that pinpoint accuracy. Even the long ball is available with his accuracy, even though he doesn't have an elite arm. He does have a very good arm. Point being - with a more versatile Offensive Line, this offense can indeed change up and play lefty easily.

SanDiego has a point though - in that against elite coaches, Kyle's had challenges. Jim Shwartz has Kyle's number. For a long time Pete also had Kyle's number until Kyle got bigger on the offensive line. John Harbaugh looks like he has Kyle's number too. Reid, Belichick same etc... point I think SD is trying to make is that - and I'm paraphrasing - Kyle seems to treat all the elite coaches like the regular average coaches he consistently out coaches in the NFL, when Kyle should be much more careful and much more conservative against the elite coaches he faces. Easier said than done of course.
Brock's average time before pressure for the season is 3.21 seconds. Against the ravens it was 3.52 seconds. The problem wasn't pass protection. The problem was the coverage by the ravens defense. They knew our route combinations and just sat in the throwing lanes. Bottom line, Kyle got way too predictable.

Or maybe we're assigning losses retroactively to 'elite' coaches, and not properly placing responsibility for the losses in the first place.

John Harbuagh is 2-0 against Kyle with the 49ers. Two wins separated by four years, lol. Hardly a record of 'ownage'.

I've seen John Harbaugh lead teams 'outcoached' as well. Jim Schwarz is a coordinator because he failed as a HC. His defenses have been beaten many times.

That's what it looked like to me. Looked like they did a good job covering and Brock was more 'uncomfortable' than I've seen him in the past. A little more hesitation, less decisiveness, etc.

Kyle likes small agile offensive linemen, I think, because he likes to fool people with his offense. He gets them going the wrong way defensively, and whalla his speedy offensive linemen are going the other way - Deebo's tunnel screen against the Eagles is a good example. When he's faced with a good head coach, with a good defense that *doesn't get fooled* easily - again paraphrasing SD - he should just execute the play and *run right at them* and forget trying to trick them.

They did but the Cowboys were taking s$#t and the Niners came back to kick the crap out of them 2 games that season.

You heard Baltimore saying Purdy is a spot thrower so they can figure out the spot. If Kyle does not change up his reads and hot routes *who cares* when we meet them or any team that has a good defense, I do. They need to spread out the progressions but with the Niners line probably can't, not enough time.

Running the ball to open up the secondary for playaction should be the gameplan in those types of games. We used to impose our will with the runnning game but it seems Kyle has lost his way a bit due to how great Brock has been in the passing game. Hopefully this game was a lesson for Kyle as well as Brock. Run the damn ball and protect the damn ball.

Exactly gets out coached by good defensive minded coaches. SD was trying to make a valid point. I don't care what stats are saying about the time to throw the person taking those must have been drunk watching the game. that's just not accurate, 3.5 secs, lol no way.
