f**k, I love this team. Just exceptional dudes all over this roster.
This teams gives me the feeling from the 80's Dynasty teams. Wow!
i want to get excited like yall but i remember feeling this way in 2011-12 and 2019
To me, the Ravens Super Bowl loss was a shocker. Going into the game, I had a ton of confidence that, on paper, we were superior to the Ravens in every way. But things went the way they did. I actually think the 49ers started too slow. If they started that game like they did in the second half, they should've won that game.
To me, the Chiefs loss was a toss-up going into to the game.
But I feel a lot better about this year's team. I feel the defense is comparable to 2011/2012, 2019, but the offense is just way better.

Thing about both those Ls is I could see us winning in both, when Gore ripped off the long run and set us up 1st and goal I thought we are winning this
same as Q3 rolled into Q4 with the 10 point lead, a KS run game, and our D
You just never can think it's won until the clock is all zeroes

Yeah, the Chiefs game, I was shocked that our defense couldn't hold out in a situation where they can just rush the passer. Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, and Arik Armstead was a pass rush.

Lets not talk about our pass rushers vs those refs, okay? That s**t still haunts me today.

Honestly that's hilarious that Kyle actually did that. I remember during the combine DK had a less than stellar meeting with us. I think Kyle got himself frustrated and he knew ever since he can get under his skin. Knowing that, it's obvious why we never drafted him despite his freak of nature stature. He wouldn't survive the doghouse like Aiyuk did.

Yup. Brock is 2nd in the league in completed air yards per completion and completed air yards per attempt. Only CJ Stroud has been better. Brock's 7.2 completed air yards per completion is getting our guys deeper downfield where there is even more room to YAC. Brock's willingness to push the ball down field and his ability to consistently hit his guys in stride has completely opened up this offense. What once were plays of 10-15 yards are now 25-35 yard explosives.

I told Trent Williams that the 49ers' explosive pass rate is rivaling the Greatest Show on Turf Rams.

Williams responded with a long explanation of how Brock Purdy is the opposite of a "system QB" and his theory as to why many observers continue to misevaluate Purdy pic.twitter.com/2uWNgyhXxQ

Looking over TW's shoulder, there is a banner hanging listing every year the Niners have won the NFCC, but 2019 is not on it. Is if possible Kyle is that bitter about losing the SB that he doesn't even want to see that? Anyway, interesting.

Also could be that camera angle combined with the mirror just positioned in a way which prevents us from seeing another banner next to it.

Agree with Giedi that this team gives me the feeling of those fantastic days in the 80s. Brock is not Joe, but his talent early on, right out of the box after JG went down last yr, and with Lance hurt….who in the world saw that coming? We will need to see lots more playing time from Brock, but good grief, the things that kid has shown us is just mind blowing. He can't be Joe….nobody can. But wow, Brock is just something else . He has a lot of post season wins to take care of and will have to win it all several or more times to start his own incredible legend, but looking at his QB talent/ mind/ awareness/ 7th sense/ and let's not forget his escapability…plus pinpoint accuracy + throwing guys before the break….cripes, when was the last time we saw a QB like that…anywhere? If he can just stay healthy, Brock already has all the makings of LEGEND. To accomplish that and put it in the books, he now has to produce for some years to make that LEGEND come true.
How this could happen from the last pick in the draft…all i can think of is that the 49ers are blessed. The pendulum always swings back, and we just finished 8 yrs of health, health, health, health and more health…all of it bad. So maybe, this is part of the story of the pendulum. Maybe the football gods do have a sense of humor after all…but with all the fantastical injuries the past 8 yrs, , it kinda feels like they owe us.
Brock is here to carry on the 49er legend, and therefore his own. Please Lord, keep him healthy….oh, and the rest of the team , also.
Health has been a big issue with Kyle Shanahan. I think he's done a great job picking players (Like Hufanga) in the fifth round because of health vs picking him in the 2nd or 3rd, for example, during the Baalke years. Or guys like Banks, Brendel and Burford who have a great history of durability (Knock on wood). Health wasn't nearly as big an issue in the dynasty years with Eddie being Mr. Money Bags and allowing Walsh and Seifert to get any player they wanted. I think they've done a great job bringing Rice back, with his offseason training regimen that is a great example for the younger players on how to stay healthy in the Brutal NFL for decades. It helps that Purdy very rarely throws hospital balls to his receivers. Being a good QB, helps McCaffrey stay healthy on the run game because the defense can't load 8+ men in the box to stop McCaffrey.

Yeah, health has always been an issue for this Shanahan/Lynch era. I know we have another thread where people are tracking injuries in a lot of detail.
But I would also throw in our physical style of play probably also leads to some of our injuries.
