I'll point out it was a 25 pt lead, not 35.
Defense matters most when you have those leads.
Losing all his RBs in the 2nd half certainly didn't help his offense keep the ball.

Literally one of the silliest arguments people try to make... the offense didn't give up all those second half points, the defense did and that isn't on Kyle.
If the defense didn't completely collapse....
I was gonna point out having a 35 point lead as an OC is all you can be asked to do. But I know Dmax won't be happy until we win 2 or 3 Super Bowls.
WIN or Stay Home, Kyle !! WIN or Stay Home !!

Not to mention your coach probably says ok clamp it down and play it safe at that point.
Blowing a lead like that is 100% on the defense, DC and head coach.
Lets put is this way... if you could hire an OC that gives you anywhere from a 21-35 point lead in the biggest game of the year, are you hiring him? Blaming Shanny means you rode the short bus to school. Shanny deserves blame for games as a head coach where he stops doing what worked and gets too clever... but not that superbowl, that was all on the D, D cord, and HC.

It's ok to say that Kyle Shanahan was overly aggressive with his playcalling, especially when the team wasn't executing and their defense was getting destroyed on the other end.
That was a catastrophic failure on all levels for the Falcons. I think it's beyond fair to assign more of the blame to the HC and their defense for the comeback. I also think the Pats were clearly the better team and they shot themselves in the foot for the better part of a game they probably should have won comfortably. That Falcons defense was mediocre at best. To only score 3 on them in a half and give up a pick 6 in the process was just a s**tty job by the Pats offense. They woke up.

Then we haven't factored other unlucky injuries this team has had to deal with.
Kyle is only getting heat because of the overall results taken from a 35,000 foot view, but when pressed it's very hard to pin his actual mistakes as the reason this team has not won a Bowl.
The only teams consistently competing with KC are Cincinnati, Buffalo, and even the Chargers. None of those 3 teams (and even KC) are as good roster wise as the 49ers, so the reason why the Niners can't beat them should be obvious to those who have been paying attention....Philly is better than all those teams too, 49er level, and also lost to KC.
I hate how unbalanced the NFL is these days. Kyle would've been killing it with these type of teams pre 2016........a better version of the 2015 Broncos.
The only hope I have now is that with Purdy we can score 30+ on KC, and the defense will do enough to keep the Chiefs under 30. Maybe Lance could be that guy.
Jimmy wasn't going to be, so the transition was needed, so LOL if Kyle is the actual problem like we would win championships with Andy Reid and Jimmy....

LOL. Kyle was the OC, not the HC. Using your logic, we should be all in on blaming our DC for the SB loss, not the HC.

Why does Kyle need a generational talent, first-ballot HOF QB to win a Superbowl if he's such an offensive genius and has had total control of the 53 for 7 years and counting???
