49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

with that being said, don't come at me with any comparisons of Shannahan to Andy Reid or any other coach who can actually win the Super Bowl.

HA here you are…I want to complain and have no answers. It's now Jed's fault…he doesn't want to win a Super Bowl because he doesn't want to make more money 🥴

I can't imagine the crying from you about Reid for his first 20 yrs in the league…you would have s**t on him and demanded someone else.

Cause the jets, browns, and lions (the friggin LIONS, hahahaha) are comparable to a legacy franchise like the 49ers? Man, talk about low expectations……

Naw at your perceived entitlement as if we deserve to always be winning championships just cause of legacy. You're like Cowboy fans. I hope you take that as a insult
ok Mr "phantom" holding call.

done arguing with you bro.

Teddy Roosevelt said perfectly that "Complaining about a problem without proposing a solution is called whining"

you're the kinda fan that earns the forty whiners name. Good job

Pretty much. Jed ain't selling the team either. Best thing Max can do is go be a fan elsewhere. Maybe take a couple posters with ya…no one cares about your guy's whining.

Nope. No insult. I just feel bad for a lot of fans here. Lots of low expectations here. It's too bad.
have a great day!

When I read something and think "no way they thought that was smart" the internet has shown me that there's a lot of people who do think it was a great idea.

Unstoppable huh...

People need stop comparing s**t to the 80s, that era, where a few teams dominated the sport due to their owner's willingness to outspend every other team is gone and is never coming back. The days of the 49ers having better backups then a lot of teams starters due to Eddie D willing to pay out the ass, those days are never coming back and even during those days, there were some really bad losses that had the Lowell Cohn's of the world calling for Walsh to get canned and the team to get blown up...etc.

As much as fans want to try to make everything like its based on some secret formula of skill, a lot of it just comes down to dumb luck. Get the right bounce of the ball, get the right opponents, get the right reffing crew.....etc. All you can ever do is try to be in position of that luck when it lands on your side. If you want to win SB's then you need to be in the playoffs, if you're not a consistently winning team then your odds are extremely slim.

With Shanahan I feel like the 49ers will be consistently in the running to get to and win a SB. There's few other coaches around the NFL that I can say the same about. There's a reason why his assistants are getting snapped up left and right and why his system is spreading around the league. He's a really good coach, he might even turn out to be a great coach but I don't see a situation where the 49ers move on from Shanahan and somehow improve their odds of winning long term.

Feel bad for what? Having one of only a handful of teams that are consistently making the playoffs and have a legit shot to win it all every year?

I fed bad for 90% of the NFL fan bases that know they have no shot and it will be another yr trying to get above .500.

SF's currently had the second best odds of winning the SB in 2024 according to the Cesar Sportsbooks. Cry me a River.

Yep. Mahomes. Could have even had Brady but he decided to stick with Jimmy. For someone that is labeled an offensive genius, he sure doesn't have the ability to assess offensive talent. Could easily have won our second straight this year with Brady, and should have been winners of 3/4. instead, Mahomes has 2, and McVay has the other.

Yay Kyle…

Go watch some 2000s 49ers football, outside of 3 years with Harbs a bunch of f**king trash…that's worth crying about.

Go watch some 1980-1990s football. Outside of a few years pure dominance. Comparing this to that, there's a lot to cry about.

Yeah, our current 4 year run is like 1990 - 1993, except those squads never made a Super Bowl and lost the NFCCG twice at home. Should Seifert be burned at the stake?

Oddly enough, some fans did have that line of thinking.

He was burned for it, despite winning the SB in 94.

Which was really dumb and reactionary. What hurt those teams most and what ultimately killed off the 49ers dynasty run was years of terrible drafting and bad free agent signings. They lost tons of depth that was never replaced and made bad moves that left the team weak or barren at key positions while continually pointing the finger at the coach, the quarterback or whatever other convenient scapegoat.

If Shanahan comes up short next year again, do you believe he deserves to be in the hot seat ?

I heard an interview with Carmen Policy a few years ago. He admitted that the Niners were in cap hell by the time he left. They kept redoing contracts and pushing the money back. It eventually caught up to them.
