Am I the only one who finds it rediculous that Kyle is getting critisized for not giving Mason way more carries than he does? He's the backup RB. In what universe does the backup get just as much playing time as the starter if the game has not been decided yet? Grant ofcourse is the worse for this as he actually thinks Mason should get more carries than CMC. If the game is still on the line the starters are going to get the majority of the work. It's just the way it is. Especially when that starter is an all-pro. And I like Mason, I think he is a good RB but he is still the backup. I also think Kyle finds it very predictable if Mason is in the backfield, The defense knows he is getting the ball. At the end of the game it doesn't matter because the defense knows you are running the ball anyways, Whether you have Mason or CMC back there.

If CMC is not on the field, Defenses likely know you are not passing the footballl. As he is your best receiving threat.

agreed, plus something else i hadnt thought about is kyle probably doesnt trust two rookies (purdy & mason) in high pressure situations right now. cmc is a vet and is less likely to miss an assignment.

Can't be the only one who still sees shanahan as a good schemer and terrible game manager.

USE MASON. DON'T KILL MCCAFFREY. IF YOU GET THE OFFSIDES ON 4 and 7 TO MAKE IT 4 and 2 GO FOR IT. DON'T BURN A TIMEOUT WHEN PLAYCLOCK IS RUNNING IF YOU'RE BACKED UP AGAINST THE GOAL LINE ANYWAY. USE HURRY UP OFFENSE.

Does he know he can use aiyuk on pre-snap motion sweep? Or Juice as a short yardage runner or pass catcher? Or Jennings more frequently?

To me, great coaches woulda won this game 35-3. And yes, I'm not taking away that he's working with a 7th rd rook qb; i'm talking situationally when it didn't have anything to do with brock or putting him at risk.

Even the td series. why are you continually pounding CMC up the gut when he's your biggest asset right now and has an injury history (as do the 49ers), when you have mason.

I just think that kind of coaching not to lose and being cute will be what always holds this team and coach back from winning a super bowl. too ready to just lean on his all pro defense instead of working harder and more aggresively to hold up his end of the bargain.

Just shut up and go to sleep. Stop complaining and enjoy the ride.

you could have contributed an actual, logical rebuttal.

I'm thrilled they won. but this guy is an OC and not a head coach and that won't win them a super bowl...ever.

My momma always said, "You can't beat stupid with logic."
The crying over a win. 😂😂

One of the things that goes so undervalued on this board sometimes, especially when things go a bit awry. The players in the league know this is a top spot to play because of Shanalynch. It's been a sneaky huge part of the success here since 2019, and should be recognized and appreciated more.

It really is good hearing it from a player's perspective.

Because if you were to just listen to narrative hawkers,....the way we prepare and train is horrible and everything needs to be blown up and we need to start over.
Anyone that remembers this forum in 2014 knows I use to spam this gif. Kyle getting his '87 Walsh on last night.

I just don´t understand CMC with 32 touches and Mason only with 4.

I get that CMC is an All-Pro but if he keeps getting 30 touches per game he won´t be healthy in january.

This is what no Shanahan jock lickers will admit.

Mason comes in when games are on the line and every person on defense is loaded against him...and he gets like 6 yards per carry and kills it. USE HIM and spell your biggest weapon. He already got Lance and Deebo killed (Jimmy was his own fault).

Tune here is a lot different if he gets CMC hurt. And Purdy made that play on the bootleg. god bless this f**king kid.

The f**king division is on the line. Of course he wants to use our best players. CMC made an impact on all 3 TDs cause of his presence alone. Yall b***h about Kyle being conservative yet complain when he gives our best players the ball...

Conservative playcalling and needless overuse of specific are two entirely different things. It's not like we have an offense bereft of talent and we were forced to do this like the early days of frank gore. We have Juice and Mason in the backfield alone. He drafted TDP high who doesn't even suit up most times.

Aggressive is taking that 4 and 2 you got the offsides call on and running with mason or doing a bootleg with purdy and making them pay. not punting away like a soft b***h. He needs to show more faith vs just trying to impose will, blowing important drives with obvious three and outs, and stop continually leaning so hard on his defense to do it all.

Please just sit down. He is smarter than you. We have the best defense in the league and a rookie qb with one start. Punt the ball play defense and keep cmc in because he eases the load on Brock considerably. In a division clinching game these are not hard decisions even from the couch. Get a clue.

Trent's really never had team success outside of these last seasons, really happy for him. I think they had one playoff year when Kyle was OC

I love my Coach.

I can see why some would critique though I even critiqued in the thread lol, hes does have some minor flaws that can easily be fixed.

Calling Shanny autistic isn't exactly critiquing.

Agreed, Shanny is going to roll with his super-star RB when the division is on the line. Period. I like Mason a lot, but his game is not complete, yet. He'll get there. I think we'll see a bit more of Mason over the next 3 games.

That's his weakness probably, yeah. But I think I'll take that weakness with all the positives rather than have the likes of Fart Tomsula.
There are so many franchises in this league that would do unspeakable acts to have Kyle as their HC. I know some people have a tendency to focus on his flaws but I feel like we are damn lucky to have him as our HC and should be in contention for coach of the year.
