You are correct as well. It was a DT in his face. Atleast we got it all straight now.

We still don't know if Kyle would draw that play up if Jimmy was the QB.

We will most likely never know but I am sure we all have our suspicions.

The real question is would Kyle have even told Jimmy he was going to run it. #DidntGetTheMemo

Brock Purdy did get the memo. It was Aiyuk who did not.

Does Kyle draw up that play to Aiyuk for the TD the night before the game if Jimmy was still playing?
Yes but Aiyuk probably isn't targeted. imo.
Brock is about to start his windup in this frame.

So Kyle would take the time to draw up a double move deep shot to Aiyuk the night before just so Jimmy can check it down to Kittle? I just can't believe that.

I don't know.

I think the answer is "Yes, Kyle would of implemented it". The real question is "would Kyle of called It in the game? If so, would Jimmy had hit it. I love Jimmy but that is a weakness in his game.

overall, I think it happened because of Purdy and the balls he has.

Yeah, Jimmy would have had to make up his mind to go there from the start probably. Whether that was Kyle encouraging it in his headset or him willing to trust it. If he was free, he probably takes the safer route and the points.

Jimmy would throw it, but out of bound just to satisfy Kyle that both of them had tried. Risk averse.

If Juice ran that route, that's a guarantee. LOL

So thankful for our coach. I hope Shanny is the 49ers' head coach for the next 30 years.

it's the play @28:28 of this video. I remember this play the SEA defense was pissed off but it's no one's fault. Kyle broke the coverage.

Specifically of the times the SEA defense got smoked.

edit: I'm watching the telecast of that game and the announcer blamed Sherman for the touchdown. That leads right into what Sherman was talking about in that podcast when he was answering the question posed by the other dude, "what's one thing people don't understand about defense?". It's not a blown assignment, the coverage was broken due to the offensive playcall.

Oh s**t, I remember this play. I also remember the Twitter X's and O's guys aruing about whose fault the bust was. It's funny now knowing that Kyle literally broke their defensive scheme.

Wow, thanks so much for this! This type of material is what got me hooked on the webzone.

That highlights the inadequacies of sites like PFF, because unless you know the defensive rules or what each player was asked to do, it can be hard to accurately determine who is to blame on some plays. Which is why the grades, especially for small sample sizes like a single game, should be taken with a grain of salt.

It makes a lot of sense because back then, it was very hard to get anything on the Seahawks.

I believe their scheme was relatively simple, just executed at high level with talented guys. So a coverage bust was unlikely by one of their players....
