49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

"Hoyer didn't have to be great, Shanny will scheme the offense successfully." Does he deserve any blame? Hoyer was his boy and as many point out .... handed the job.

I think we do need to be patient. I never bought we would the scheming thing.

Seems to me it is hard to be real successful without the Franchise QB. I think there are less than 15 true ones. How we get one is beyond me. All our QBs that took us to the SB, none were first round picks. But that means finding a diamond in the rough which is always iffy.

We throw some money at Cousins

I just hope Jed doesn't fire anybody over fans' opinions.

Nobody should be fired for at least 3 years. Let them do their thing.

Well if that were true, we would be in Tomsula's third year and thinking of dumping him for Kelly for the next 3 years.

If you look at his stats prior to coming here, he's been a good quarterback. At least for the last few seasons.

He's on his seventh team in eight years. There's a reason for that.

What makes more sense in your head.

That a coach who got Matt Ryan to play the best football of his career and got him to be the MVP of the league doesn't know what he's doing and is making Brian Hoyer worse than he really is due to playcalling.

OR

That Brian Hoyer isn't doing the things the coaches expect him to do?

Or the guy calling plays for Matt Schaub when he had his best year (4700 yards 29 tds) or the guy willing to change his scheme enough to have RGIII looking like the next breed of QB.

Are you telling me highly successful QBs aren't there for the taking in free agency every year?

Just added him :)
KS is a project.... Really not much different than the whole organization right now.... He's not a clear cut difference maker, but will hopefully get better over the next few seasons.... The natural thing is to try and compare him to a superstar like McVay, but we're never going to be happy if we do that.... if he can be a poor man's Norv Turner, there's a chance to win with a strong supporting cast.

I'm scared to answer this. I don't want to blow your mind. So I'm playing it safe..."I plead the fifth."

Do you not find it odd that a QB that was highly successful with like 6 other teams comes here and suddenly forgets how to play?

This is how I know you're trolling.

Good lord on LSD.

I don't disagree with you. Shanahan has had some offensive success in the past, so we know his system can work in the right situation. It should be noted that Matt Ryan did not have a great season his first year with Shanahan and that is with a lot more talented playmakers around him.

Dude this s**t is comical.....Kyle has a MUCH stronger resume and track record in the NFL as a play caller then the golden boy. In fact McVay isn't even playing HC yet....he's getting to be just OC.

Here's a little something.....I bet you didn't know that Kyle and Sean got to call plays for similar rosters just a year a part. They both had Cousins and RGIII, Garcon, Alfred Morris etc.....I'll bet you'll never guess which playcaller scored more points, more yards, more TDs, more first downs and less penalites. Just take a look at the offense's for the 2013 and 2014 redskins. Spoiler alert: it wasn't Sean.

To think that Kyle wouldn't be lighting up s**t in LA is ignoring almost a decade of on field nfl results.
