It is pointless useless factless and hopeless to compare bills first year back in the day with kyles first year. almost 40 years is a long time. its almost like some who did predict that this year had the feeling of 2011 all over again. and gee our secondary could very well be the repeat of 81. judge kyle on his own merits and not what someone did 40 years ago in a totally different era.. now i will throw kyle a bone. he has made mistakes. bill did to. he thought it was nice to sign holly wood henderson to our team and the biggest contribution he did was to do blow on the sidelines during a game

Since I was blamed for calling Kyle the next Bill Walsh(which is f**king b******t, I've never said anyone was Bill), I'm gonna go ahead and compare the quarter mark of their first seasons as HC. Both inherited 2-14 rebuilding teams and both were almost decade nfl playcallers before getting the gig. Here's how they stack up

WALSH 1979
Points for: 80
Points allowed: 106
Diff: -26
First downs: 72
Pass yards: 868
Rush yards: 358
Total yards: 1226

SHANAHAN 2017
Points for: 66
Points allowed: 94
Diff: -28
First downs: 69
Pass yards: 773
Rush yards: 418
Total yards: 1191

Both started out 0-4. The differences between the two thru a quarter of the season is 2 points in differential, 3 first downs and 35 yards. But you know, those first 4 games totally wrote the entire story that was Bill Walsh. Point is, it's way too f**king early to be making grand statements.

AGAIN, I DO NOT THINK KYLE OR ANYONE IS BILL WALSH.

It's really no use. Every time I remotely bring this up I get hounded and accused of saying Kyle is the next Bill Walsh. It's really not worth your time, dude.

and when anyone voices displeasure with kyle, we are told that we actually said, we want kyle fired when very very few if any has ever said that

I don't give a s**t and it's not shocking that my point was missed. I wasn't just comparing Kyle to Bill....I was showing how the first quarter of Bill's career didn't come close to foreshadowing what he was building. In fact neither did his 2nd year.

Again, IMO it's a very immature and novice way to look at football when you are gonna judge a guy at the quarter Pole of their first season. Very novice with zero nuance.

Madden generation.

Can you imagine if we were 3-1 now and then lost 8 straight?

We sane people knew what you were getting at.
I remember when I was lectured about Walsh's start with Nolan by the zone. When are you guys going to realize that just because Marty Mortinwheg went 1-15 doesn't mean he's Bill Walsh 2.0. Shanny isn't Walsh, it's not 1979.

I like Shanny still but year 1 of the rebuild was too passive for my liking.

i expected more from this offense and did not think the chip gabbert offense would be better than this crap fest , we were told breathlessly that hoyer would thrive under kyle. now that he is not, the narrative/excuses must change and now its , oh we are young so thats why. maybe kyle just is not as smart as we all were led to believe.

please just stop posting.

Again...NOBODY said he was walsh. What was actually said is it's silly to start judging these guys at 4 games in their career.

Ridiculous. Are we not allowed to respect or acknowledge great coaches and players from other teams? Anyone that is still a fan of this team after the last 15 years (especially the last 2) shouldn't have their fandom or loyalty questioned so easily.

I'm tired of hearing "we picked the wrong coach". I'm tired of hearing about Harbaugh flipping a team in one offseason followed by complaints that Shanahan can't do the same.

If you're one of those people just go watch the Rams and Michigan. I'll be over here enjoying this rebuild. I'm not going to cry like a spoiled child, not going to seriously question the new GM/HC till at least mid 2018. If we still can't put together a fair amount of wins by then we may have some problems.

Anyone that can't see the difference between the Rams roster and ours is an uninformed "fan" of the San Francisco 49ers.

But...but..I wanted Mcvay. Look how good the Rams are! But...but...why don't we have Kaepernick at QB? He did great from 2013-2016. He's a perfect fit for this offense! But...but...why didn't we draft Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes or Kizer?!!! I mean, Shanahan obviously doesn't know what he's doing putting our future in Hoyer's hands. Wasting a pick on some no-name scrub at #104 was a total noob move. In Madden I get a top QB every season.

Why can't we go from 2-14 to 9-7 or 10-6? Harbaugh did it with a depleted roster and 60% turnover. I mean, John Lynch? What does he know about football? Shanahan? That guy doesn't know anything about the NFL. This is worse than the early 2000's. Totally hopeless!

I hate this team!

Not silly at all. You got three years, 3.5 max in today's NFL wasting year 1 isn't a good start. I don't care if we signed him for 6 that's not happening if he's got 10 wins after 3.

It really is. These guys have a few years to show some progress. This doesn't have to be a playoff team by Year 3 but they absolutely have to be trending in the right direction. Judging a bunch of rookies after a grand total of 4 games is incredibly short-sighted.
