I can't believe in Kyle's first year with a brand new expansion team, and young players, he is starting 0-4. un f**king believable. on a 6-year contract

The question is though....does Sean McVay have a son old enough to replace him with?

Nah, I don't want him gone. It's too late, the mistake has already been made and now we just gotta ride it out and hope for the best. Hopefully he improves and becomes a good coach and leads the 49ers back into contention.
You can't blame us for thinking about what if we had hired Sean McVay though. I lament the lost opportunity to hire the league's next great coach, but I accept that the door has closed on that. McVay is going to be the coach of the Rams for the next 30+ years. I just hope this isn't another Alex Smith/Aaron Rodgers situation.
Oh, cry me a f**king river.

this is the part that needs to be fixed/addressed ASAP

I had us winning 4 games this season and I still think that's possible. Our early schedule was rough so I also had our wins coming later in the season. Also because this new team would need time to adjust to new schemes on both sides of the ball.
Shanahan can't control Hoyer's accuracy, drops from WR's and poor blocking. Hoyer also played much better last season which gave the appearance of a serviceable bridge QB. That could still manifest sometime this season but he's just not our answer at QB. Wasn't supposed to be.
Overall the offensive schemes look like a real offense. Those saying otherwise just don't understand what they're seeing. This offense looks 100 times better than a Chip Kelly offense. Same with a Jeep Chryst offense.
We went into this season KNOWING Hoyer isn't our FQB so people feaking out right now were just looking for a reason to criticize the GM/HC. I'd say a good percentage of them are either CK fans or wanted us to draft one of the 2017 QB's and didn't get their way.
Trubisky was the only first round QB that remotely fit Shanahan's offense and he only had one year starting experience in college. The risk there was HUGE. Even more risk than a two, three or four year starter where we can see his potential with more clarity. Thise guys are still 50/50.
QB's that rely on rushing and broken plays just aren't what we need. The 2018 draft has more pocket passers as does the 2018 free agency. This was the plan all along. Address QB in the 2018 draft or free agency. If anything Hoyer's poor play is making this easier.
What I'm looking for is improvement on defense while the offensive players that will be here long term get familiar with the new system.
Thus far we're on that path. I think our defense is improving over last year. Our d-line is showing some life. Our star rookie LB has been out and our safties have been missing games too. Things should be better on defense when everyone is healthy and we have some more game time experience behind us.
We knew going into the season, after the draft, that we need QB, WR and gaurd on offense. Nothing has changed. We need more skill on this team. We need better players at key positions.
Calm rational people with no agenda shouldn't harshly judge this rebuild till at least mid 2018. What we see now is not a finished product. Doesn't mean we shouldn't complain OR act like everything is perfect but we knew going into this season this is not a one year turnaround. Most of us knew this was a four win team in 2017. The talent just isn't there.

Way too many expectations for KS.... he benefited from a tremendous cast in ATL and capitalized on an almost magical season.... the yorks are not capable of hiring the next great coach.... they got Harbaugh through pure circumstance.... and to think there was the intellectual capability or desire to hire the next great coach is farcical....

Thanks, and you know what? I don't feel bad at all after 3 of these losses. The defense has looked good to OK in three of them. The offense looked great in one. The Panthers loss probably hurt a tad.
At the end of the day we have dozens of new players on this team (which is insane) and many of them won't be here next year. We have FIVE picks in the first three rounds and $100 million in cap space for 2018.
ShanaLynch will identify players worth keeping and will draft accordingly. I can almost guarantee we'll have a new QB on this roster in 2018. Either a top rookie or top free agent.
We'll draft Gaurd, WR and CB. Maybe even a pass rusher. We could nab a pass rusher in free agency or could do that with WR. There's a lot of options. There's light at the end of the tunnel. If people can't see it it's because they don't want to see it. They don't want to see it because they have some sort of bone to pick.
Shanahan was one of the top HC prospects and has been around the NFL his entire life. He's going to bring 1980-1990's style 49er football back to the bay area but he just needs some time to put a viable team together. This isn't going to happen overnight and it was never intended to happen with Brian Hoyer at QB. We'll get a good offense going if we can land a good QB. Everything the new regime is doing relies on us getting a good pocket passer and also on the defense improving.
Just need 3-4 new pieces. 3-4 new starters at key positions. I feel this could actually be accomplished in the 2018 draft/free agency. Heck, if we end up with a losing record in 2018 then I'll jump on the hater wagon myself.

You guys laugh, but I'm going to come back to this thread in 30 years and we'll see who was right. McVay is doing a Harbaugh-esque job right now, but without the abrasive personality and child-like owner that eventually undid Harbaugh.

I mean, what do you people want? Tom Cable as HC?
Some of the "haters" wanted Mcvay. I forgot to add that in my initial post. Well, Mcvay has a first round pick at QB with a defense that took years to build. All they had to do was address the o-line and WR group. They had very few needs compared to our roster at the end of 2016.
If Mcvay was handed this 49er roster the same results would likley manifest. Jeff Fisher grossly mismanaged Goff and the Rams offense last season which is why he was fired. Mcvay walked into a much better situation. There's simply a lot more talent on the Rams team. We will be doing similar things in the offseason. We're going to use picks on skill positions and spend our cap space. (We better)
Heck, we were LUCKY to get Shanahan after what transpired here since 2014. Fans crapping on him this early in the rebuild look like spoiled little kids or special needs kids in my eyes. No offense to special needs kids. They're actually a lot more pleasant than some of our fans. A true joy to be around.

How about you go be a Rams fan for those 30 years?

You absolutely can not set there on game 7 8 and 9 with your team making 13 penalties a game.. new scheme. youth and mayos penis excuses not withstanding. you can not have a qb set there making the same mistakes game after game and not make a change,. big picture excuses not withstanding. in my opinion

Harbaugh was handed a stacked roster. Shanahan was handed a total mess. The two situations aren't even in the same universe.
