The funny thing is a lot of people on this board tried to sell us on that "Shanahan is better than Harbaugh" BS.
Harbaugh wasnt that great either... his strength was putting together a coaching staff. After that he was just a whiny b*tch on the sidelines. Shanahan had a good staff but gets raided every year and thinks he keeps finding the next prodigies. When the guys that get raided know everyone in the same circle as Shanny, the cupboard becomes bare.
That was one of JH strengths, his other strength was that he was a true leader with a plan. JH created an environment that weeded out softness.
The head coaches job is to hire the best staff possible, not just yes men. When has KS had a good staff and who is taking all of these great coaches away from him?
JH Created the best practice plans (we practice hard for 3 hours because the game is 3 hours long), motivated the team, coaches (gotta work as hard as JH), and fan base (remember; Who's got it better than us?). Those were some of the most physical teams (with a F) that I've ever seen around here. Also, what you call whinny I call passion. JH wanted to win everything and felt like people were cheating him when his stuff didn't work because he believed in everything he did 100%.
Kyle is okay with his current win-loss record, looks for excuses, and shows the body language of someone who has been defeated (most of the time). Both Kyle & JH have fathers that coached, Harbaugh instilled everything his dad taught him into his coaching philosophy "Who's got it better than us" came from his dad. "Attack this day" came from his dad. His dad had two sons playing for a SB title!
Kyle's dad won SB titles as a O.C & as a HC, yet I don't see Kyle using the winning blue print. Seems like he is more hell bent on doing it HIS way.
Well...
