Lol no one calls Roman a choker that's BS. It's Harbs that gets brought up.

No the head coach has last say in everything. Quinn could have said let's run it. He didn't. I've never seen a Head f**king coach get such a pass like Quinn. Dude didn't even get blamed for giving up like 30 pts in the 2nd half and over 500 yards of offense.

Falcons fans feel differently.

I am going to bet someone did. He was pretty hated here.
Does anyone know if we have a game / situational manager that explicitly tells the head coach when to take timeouts or not? Does such a position exist?

Would we benefit from hiring someone to do this?
Shanahan is the most to blame.

Plenty to go around, but he's numero uno.

Over thought, played it scared.

Make up your minds, irate fans. Does he trust Jimmy G or does he not? Half of you are crying about not trusting him (end of 1st half), half are crying that he trusted him too much (end of 4th quarter). Maybe - just maybe - he coached each scenario different because of different circumstances and some of those decisions didn't pan out how they wanted. It happens to the best of them. (Has a single SB winning coach ever not also lost a playoff game in his career? Has a SB winning QB ever not lost a playoff game in his career?) This idea that it's impossible for Shanny/Jimmy to ever win it all is defeatist cynicism in sports at its worse. It's just an entertainment in the end.

Could he win one? Sure, but it might be in a decade with another franchise.

We've been through this before, so we know how many ways a team can implode in the future. While Kyle improves and becomes an eventual media darling, the niners likely gets worse since that's typically how it goes in the NFL.

So you think Bosa & Buckner will be so devastated by this loss they will retire? George Kittle will regress & Debee wont develop? Because that is what is going to need to happen if you want a repeat of the last time.

I think we'll lose talent due to expensive contracts, which is why you need to win when you get there as windows are so short. Then you have to consider variables like injuries, playoff seeding, bad calls, etc. Kyle and Jimmy may improve, but the rest of the team will get worse.

It's no accident that NE is the only team to repeatedly return from SB losses, and that's in large part due to being in a s**t division and having arguably the greatest HC and QB combo of all-time. We're not that lucky though.

I've faught this point to death in the past and it never gets anywhere, lol. Quinn was a defensive minded head coach and his team had a 25 point second half lead. Once his defense s**t the bed and was giving yards and points up like crazy, Kyle lost faith in their defense in a crucial moment and tried to seal the game with his mvp qb. Context is everything.

He wasn't the head coach. If people wanna pin last night on Kyle because he was the head coach then fine, but the super bowl with the Falcons rest on Dan Quinn's shoulders.

What they feel and what actually happened are two different things.

Look at that s**t! Jimmy G s**t his pants plain and simple. He missed reads and couldn't handle pressure coming in on him.

Stop posting this s**t NY. Seeing it once was good enough, lol.

Baldy keeps posting more and more clips showing there WAS plays to be had. Yet people wanted to run it into the ground with stacked boxes.

Jimmy missed a lot of plays in the 2nd half and no one can debate that. It's right there

I feel like people saying he "played scared" are just projecting their own feeling.

Damn. Very concerning to think that Kyle isn't learning from a glaring mistake.

This is really sickening.

Yes cause kyle was the HC of the falcons. He had final say in everything

Offensive output has always been on Kyle (whether OC or HC). To say he had no hand in the Falcons collapse would be very short sighted.

Never say he didn't the fact that everyone solely blames him is f**king retarded.

Quinn is the HC period.

As that season rolled it was well known that quinn gave shanahan the offense to run as he felt with little oversight. I agree he should have slapped the cuffs on KS in the 4th quarter of that superbowl but he didnt and Kyle ran his offense the way he wanted to which helped the pats complete the largest nfl comeback in superbowl history.

I agree with you. Been posting the same argument all morning but people are gonna believe what they want. Nothing you, I, Baldy, or any other respected analyst you can find will unfortunately change anybody's mind that's settled on a narrative. Even with visual proof.

I could only watch 1/2 of that before I was too pissed to continue. Jimmy played like s**t last night. PERIOD.
