I dont think it's a wet blanket. It's true we have to clean it up, but I think its a good sign that this team can win through adversity. But yeah if we wanna win a championship we cant tean the ball over.

Its proof we have talent. Now we need our coaches to step up and better execution by the players. We should only improve. .

He is not wrong. Its something we need to fix and this team will look tons better if they do clean it up.

most of the turnovers were stupid avoidable "bang-bang" plays. fundamentals. not worried about it.
Only 5 penalties against Steelers.
Starts @ the 6:30 mark

This is interesting.

I also wanted to note that when a receiver is in motion, Kyle said the snap is to be when he crosses the T...a couple times it was late at the G and then the mishap, at the C level. If DE's pick up on this, I wonder if this could lead to ER's getting a beat on the timing of the snap.

i'm sure everyone knows you can't commit 5 turnovers a game and have sustained success...
Fired up!!

Then, minutes later on being 3-0.

"It doesn't mean anything. I've been on teams 5-0 and not gone to the playoffs."

Liar!! You're excited...Haha

And you should be! This is YOUR 3-0 team.

I hope this is the start of another playoff run!

Well, if we go by the beautiful almost-Cinderella 2011 season (damn Kyle Williams ) that team also started sloppy as hell (blowing a sure win against Dallas of all teams , winning an Ugly-Fest at Cincy) and then pulled a win out of its arse at Philly to start that brilliant run that included some heartstoppers vs Detroit and NYG and the divisionals vs NO. Perhaps we can see the same this year? Minus the heartstoppers please, yesterday was enough. I want boring blowouts please.

Oh, and no Kyle Williams either

No Kyle Williams, but hopefully we have a K'wan Williams.

Agree about the 2011 season, that really looked like our 1981 Cinderella season, just that Jim Harbaugh was nowhere near Walsh, and Baalke was nowhere near McVay, sadly.

However, this year, it looks like the playoffs are a possibility, and I hope the players will be mentally ready to hit the playoffs and beyond -- just like 1981 all over again!

Interesting stats. But still a bit apples v oranges in different eras.

If they are properly comparable then Jimmy is ahead of the games.

Through is our team is starting to gel and is bolstered with top level talent in most areas. Kyle is now making it more complex in offense and Salah is doing the same in defense. JG's stats will be boosted with the excellent play calling. Masks his rustiness. Like JG said on Sunday, Kyle makes it easy for him. True.
If Kyle can master the Belichick way of capanomics, Kyle can field a dynasty for a long time. Somehow Bellicheat's been able to maintain a super bowl level team despite losing so many stars. My biggest unknown with regards to Kyle was his defensive chops, but that looks pretty good - with him being able to trade for Dee Ford and draft Bosa. Now, the next place Kyle needs to show his stuff is mastering the Cap - a la Bellicheat.

Agreed. We are going to find out a lot about their ability to manage cap in the next 3 to 4 offseasons. We are going to have some guys that are due a big payday or just guys that could get a decent extension. AA's deal is up and a decision will have to be made. They need to extend Buckner. Kittle, Breida, and Mullens's deals are up after next year. Fortunately, the top dollar positions have already been paid (DE, tackle, and QB) and the other guys at those positions (MM and Bosa) are at the start of rookie deals. We should also be done with spending excessive money on unproductive players. Jimmy Ward will finally be gone (I hope). McKinnon should be taking a restructured deal next year. I didn't like AA's option being picked up, but can't complain about him thus far.

We have a Dline that will make + Kwon that will make our overall D look great. I say keep adding to that pass rush, yearly, and let some guys move on. The forecast for the next few years is pretty much, provided that every perceived position of strength remains that way.

Agree about no cap hell on the horizon yet, although you can see the storm clouds gathering. Key is how ShanaLynch can continue to hit it out of the park on 5th rounds and beyond and in the undrafted area. I don't know if you extend Brieda after his contract is up. I think other than QB and Edge rusher, you can afford to let stars go if they are going to wreak your cap discipline. *IF* (for example) ShanaLynch is confident that they can find another Breida in the UDFA category, maybe they should try to trade Brieda before his contract is up? I don't know. I'm thinking you draft for defense and you get cheap free agents and undrafted free agents for the offense. I don't know, and all I can say is it takes a genius in cap management to do what Bellicheat has done. And how he does it, I have no clue.

The 49ers lead the league in carries (114). Kind of unexpected.

The top-4 offenses by total yards (BAL, KC, DAL, SF) have 96+ carries each. NE (tied 5th) has 106. League average is 67.
