Ok here's a fun activity, I have 41 players with an L in parenthesis, as Locks, and the other 12 spots I have multiple players listed, you guys choose each who you'd keep for those spots, also you can decide to keep maybe two of them, and none of another non Lock spot. But you have to have all 41 Locks I have on your 53-man roster. You can also add in someone you think may be a sleeper or may make the roster.
I might do a thread, but I don't know if that's the right thing to do, so I posted it here, just for fun since it's almost June, and soon nothing will be going on until late July-August.

Just too early for me to consider who might make the final 53! The two great things that have happened are Kyle Shanahan bringing back a form of the WCO and Lynch being an incredibly adept defensive mind. Lynch can really help Saleh put the D together and shape the roster. There are many other good developments--Peters and Mayhew, FAs looking favorably at the team again, and a solid group of assistant coaches who should create a more cohesive group than the past two years (I realize that's a low bar).and the owner is another year older and has hopefully matured and learned!

Dial is horrible. There is no way dial makes the roster and cut Chris Jones. We should have cut dial last year for Garrison Smith.

I think Smith wound up on IR if I'm not mistaken.

We should have cut Purcell for Smith, and Dial made it because of the new contract last year. They only save $450K of they cut him this year.
Chris Jones got a minimum deal, $50K bonus.

2. QB 7 Matt Barkley (L)
3. QB 3 C.J. Beathard (L)
4. RB 28 Carlos Hyde (L)
5. RB 32 Joe Williams (L)
6. RB 22 Tim Hightower (L) - Not a lock
7. RB 49 Matt Breida or RB 26 Kapri Bibbs - 3-way battle for 2 spots
8. FB 44 Kyle Juszcyzk (L)
9. WR 15 Pierre Garcon (L)
10. WR 17 Jeremy Kerley (L)
11. WR 11 Marquise Goodwin (L)
12. WR 19 Aldrick Robinson (L)
13. WR 81 Trent Taylor (L)
14. WR 6 Kendrick Bourne or WR 1 Victor Bolden or WR 4 DeAndre Carter - We may only keep 5 WR's d/t going with 4 RB's and 4 TE's
15. TE 82 Logan Paulsen (L)
16. TE 85 George Kittle (L)
17. TE 46 Cole Hikutini or TE 89 Vance McDonald - He's a lock; only question is whether we keep a 4th TE or 6th WR
18. C 58 Jeremy Zuttah (L)
19. C 67 Daniel Kilgore or C 61 Tim Barnes or OL 62 Erik Magnuson - I could see both of these players making it (balance of youth + experience). Erik can play both T & G, cheap and youth.
20. LG 68 Zane Beadles (L) - Not a lock (see NN article)
21. RG 65 Joshua Garnett (L)
22. OG 63 Brandon Fusco or OL 62 Erik Magnuson
23. LT 74 Joe Staley (L)
24. RT 77 Trent Brown (L)
25. RT 76 Garry Gilliam (L)
26. DE 94 Solomon Thomas (L)
27. DE 91 Arik Armstead (L)
28. DE 98 Ronald Blair (L)
29. DE 59 Aaron Lynch or DE 95 Tank Carradine or DE 45 Pita Taumoepenu or DE 66 Noble Nwachukwu - Tank is a borderline lock for the 6T as is Pita for the LEO (situational pass rusher); Lynch is not even close to a L at this point (he's got a long ways to go)
30. DT 99 DeForest Buckner (L)
31. DT 92 Quinton Dial or DT 93 Chris Jones - This is going to be one hell of a battle here. Only one spot open.
32. NT 90 Earl Mitchell (L)
33. NT 96 D.J. Jones (L)
34. OLB 51 Malcolm Smith (L)
35. OLB 56 Reuben Foster (L)
36. OLB 54 Ray-Ray Armstrong (L)
37. OLB 97 Dekoda Watson (L)
38. OLB 55 Ahmad Brooks or OLB 57 Eli Harold or OLB 47 Jimmie Gilbert - You got it...only 1 spot between 2 players here.
39. MLB 53 NaVorro Bowman (L)
40. MLB 50 Brock Coyle (L) - Not a lock
41. CB 33 Rashard Robinson (L)
42. CB 41 Ahkello Witherspoon (L)
43. CB 36 Dontae Johnson or CB 27 Keith Reaser - Only 1 spot open here. Another great battle to watch.
44. CB 24 K'Wuan Williams (L)
45. CB 23 Will Redmond (L)
46. FS 25 Jimmie Ward (L)
47. FS 20 Don Jones (L) - Not a lock; lots of players who can play ST and contracts are not debilitating by any means.
48. FS 49 Lorenzo Jerome or FS 38 Adrian Colbert - Lorenzo is a borderline lock like Tank & Pita given there is nobody else there to play those specific positions.
49. SS 35 Eric Reid (L)
50. SS 29 Jaquiski Tartt or FS 49 Lorenzo Jerome or FS 38 Adrian Colbert
51. PK 9 Robbie Gould (L)
52. P 5 Bradley Pinion (L)
53. LS 86 Kyle Nelson (L)

Still too early for me also, but if I had a say. I would choose youth over experience if their physical abilities are equal. At DE, I'd choose Pita over Aaron and CJ at second string ahead of Barkley.

Teams will be watching our cuts this year as there are so many good young guys who won't make the team. Then there are vets who could fill spots for a team--Brooks might be valued by some teams. My head will be spinning though as there are 30 rookies on the current roster.

My hope is GM's across the league won't. I'm hoping the 2-12 record will make them ignore our roster and our cuts. That way we can IR some promising players and Practice Squad the rest. But in a year or two, I'd be disappointed if a good portion of the GM's around the league didn't look at our cuts and drool over them. I remember one time our roster was so talented that instead of waiting for our cuts, one GM traded a 7th rounder for one of our DB's. I'd like that to happen a lot in the future. If Hoyer can have Kirk Cousin's productivity and success, at the same time CJ is quickly developing, we can possibly get more draft picks for a Hoyer trade and increase our draft capital for the following year to move up in draft position. We shall see...

I'll miss a couple of these guys but it seems they have several players ready to take their places. Dawson is getting up there in age, but...he has been one of the highlights of the team...as sad as that is!

Yeah, I would have liked to see Streater, Tiller and Hodges given another shot but not critical. But for a 2 win team, you'd think nobody would want anything to do with free agents. LOL. Guess not...and to your point, wait until we cut down from 90 to 53. Feeding frenzy.

To me, I see Coyle and Jones as locks, I think ST Coordinator will get these guys on the roster, plus Jones looked good in OTAs so far at DB.
I don't see Zane cut, he can play LG, LT, and C, way to versatile. Vance to me, is not a lock, if the team was willing to deal him before June 1, they will cut him post June 1 save like $500K this year and $1.8M next year, plus his 2019-2021 salary cap numbers.

I can certainly understand your rationale there.
