They're going on right now... things are too quiet though, guess just too many moving parts.

Sure thang. I have no idea, I have heard Ward and Reid first team starters... guess with rookie mini camp wrapping up they'll have a better grasp of everything and can place people accordingly? That's my only guess haha. When the real OTAs start we'll start hearing some news on how things are looking in the early faze of the new regime and personnel.

Just an FYI if we cut Vance McDonald after June 1st, we would save $665,625 MAX, with dead money hits of $3.5M in 2017, and $4.2M in 2018, while saving $1.8M in 2018, We could save an additional $2.1M this year if someone was dumb enough to trade for him, and take on his contract, but I doubt that happens.
Garrett Celek, if cut with a Post June 1, we'd save $950K MAX, with $1.625M dead money in 2017, and $1.25M dead money in 2018, while saving $1.425M in 2018.

Great info...I can see Celek but certainly not Vance.

Another Linebacker, an outside pass rush, maybe a safety, more youth and speed at receiver, and depth at O-line, the QB situation seems stable but not great, in need of an upgrade. All in all a much better looking roster, and assumably a better coaching staff, combined with a easier schedule should lead to a few more wins.
It is really hard to say, now at this point, I'll check back in after, late free agency (happening now) and post camp cuts, and salary cap victims from around the league, when we can snatch up some veteran depth with our cap space. Once preseason is done, and we have made these moves, I think we will look pretty good, and if the team tells quickly, we might just surprise the a*****es in Vegas!

AB, you're adding to the Vance BS. We had a couple offers to trade him during the draft... We get it, you don't like him or his contract lol. We're not hurting for money so gives a fudge. Golly lol.

On a team this bad, no one is untouchable, well maybe Bowman, but really other than Bo, we can trade or cut anyone. I hope Vance excels with abetter coaching and better scheme. As for Celek, his is pretty dammed average, totally replaceable.

No you're right... for the right price, EVERYONE is available. I wouldn't be shocked if we made a trade out of our butts for Cousins still.

To me these guys are not cuttable.
Based on Salaries: (The dead money doesn't include their workout bonuses they'd earn, so the Cap savings would be less)
Pierre Garcon - $17M Fully GTD left, we'd lose $975K if cut Post June 1
Eric Reid - $5.676M Fuly GTD Salary, No cap savings
Brian Hoyer - $9.86M Fully GTD, we'd lose $2.575M if cut Post June 1
Solomon Thomas - $29,154,382 fully GTD 4yr deal
Kue Juszczyk - $7M Fully GTD, we'd only gain $500K if cut Post June 1
Malcolm Smith - $11.5M fully GTD, we'd gain only $34,375 if cut Post June 1
Marquise Goodwin - $4.45M Fully GTD, we'd only gain $50K if we cut him Post June 1
Earl Mitchell - $4.65M fully GTD, we'd only gain $521,875 if cut Post June 1
Quinton Dial - $3,820,250 fully GTD, we'd only gain $550K if cut Post June 1
Arik Armstead - $5,816,098 fully GTD, we'd lose $1,777,176 in cut Post June 1
Garry Gilliam - $1.25M Fully GTD, just signed away from SEA, yes we'd save $912,500, but why sign him in the first place if you're going to cut him, and guarantee him $1.25M?
Jeremy Kerley - $2.8M Fully GTD, we'd only gain $350K if cut post June 1
Joshua Garnett - $5,893,848 fully GTD, we'd lose $1,295,846 if cut Post June 1
Tank Carradine - $1.625M Fully GTD, we'd only gain $353,125 if cut
Reuben Foster - $7,338,444 Fully GTD in his 4yr deal(Only first 3 years are GTD)
Dekoda Watson - $1M Fully GTD, Key ST'er, makes no sense to waste $1M, and sign him for 3 years.
Brock Coyle - $400K Fully GTD, again a key ST'er, and makes no sense to sign him to only cut him.
Ray-Ray Armstrong - $1,208,334 Fully GTD left, we'd only save $300K with post June 1 cut
Don Jones - $750K Fully GTD, we'd only save $356,250 if cut Post June 1
Vance McDonald - $7.7M fully GTD left, we'd gain only $665,625 if cut June 1.
Garrett Celek - $2.875M fully GTD, we'd only save $950K if cut June 1
The best case scenario is to trade someone like Celek or Vance in order to really see a good sized cap savings.

They had the chance with McDonald, refused to do so at the end of the day if it was all about the money. Dockett was a good example of it.

The niners have a history of former TEs playing for other teams, so why not? Toward the end of TC, when teams are suffering injuries, they may have some takers for one or the other.
Some teams that could use a good TE? NE, NO, Den...depending on health and depth of their teams. NE and NO have QBs who can use receivers to the best of their abilities.

Fun years... average safeties with big hit ability. Game has changed and those guys couldn't cut it in coverage.
