Elway: Owned multiple businesses, car dealerships, resturants i believe and an AFL team. A curvball of a hire at the time but had the pedigree and business accumen it seemed from previous said endevors.
Millen: Hall of fame player, former broadcaster, not sure of anything else.
The comparison can easily be made to Millen but I personally will wait to see how it pans out. I loved em as player and like the connection to Walsh, will just have to wait and see honsetly.
Well, Millen is not in the HOF, even though he won some Super Bowls as a player. If you read up on Millen, there's a lot of negative stuff out there unrelated to him being a GM, like calling one of his previous players a gay slur on the field, calling Ron Jaworski an ethnic slur in 2010, or as a player punching the Patriots GM after a playoff loss in the late 80s. Not that that means much, but perhaps some signs of poor judgment?
At this point.. we can hyper analyze all we want but it won't change the outcome of what happens. I am shocked, worried, and unsure what to expect. I want to like the hire, but all I can say is.. if this is who Shanahan wanted out of the three final choices, then OK. I'm just a fan who's tired of seeing the team lose and I hope we can turn this around soon.
