Yeah, a fassstt wide receiver is the need.

Deebo, Kittle, McCaffrey etc provide possession type receivers.

swap later rd picks.

I'd also call the Texans and see if any of their backup WRs are for sale cheap.

Yup bring him home. He belongs in SF just like Greenlaw and is miserable elsewhere

Juan would REALLY help this banged up WR core, and I'm sure he'd rather be here, but how likely is it?

All the injured WRs are going to be back at some point.. Stribling, Deebo, Robinson, Kirk.... I think we just need to get through the next 2 games short at WR, then we have the bye week. I think Cook is serviceable in the meantime.
This!!!

Cook doesn't seem to care to block to save his life but made a nice catch in the end zone. He is serviceable in the meantime!

The issue once all those guys make it back plus what's already available is that there is only 1 ball LOL

Bring everyone home, Buckner too.

I'd rather try and get someone that gives us a better chance at being able to get separation. I wouldn't be upset if we got Jennings but by EOY, what's his contribution? Evans, Strib, Cooks, Robinson, Wakins, Cowing, Deebo.

how much do you want to invest in a guy whos most likely your WR5 or 6? He's a really good WR4/5. Just have to be careful. I wouldn't be upset, maybe he can go back to his old role such as 2023 and shine again. he def shoudn't be WR1 or 2, IMO.

I disagree, he can separate as a route runner. Similar to Evans. He catches everything, has a rapport with Brock and blocks his ass off. He very much a vibe like Deebo is.

not sure who people expect to get in a mid season trade that's gonna magically be our WR2? We got multiple WRs coming back in the next couple weeks….no one is asking to give up anything to get him. Conditional late rd pick or swap.

I think you've answered yourself unwittingly.

Can't chase old vibes..

and no he wasn't getting separation. 7 of Purdy's 10 INTs in 9 games were thrown to JJ

the very least if JJ comes back is if he's released and I would probably convert him to TE2 so he can block and beat LBs in coverage

They would be boneheads to give us WR stability, as much as I would love it.

I don't think Lynch would waste a draft pick on Jennings anyway. If they're gonna trade for a WR do it for Jerry Jeudy or another veteran.

First off the Vikings are a fake 5-0 team. Similar to the Pats last yr. They've played no one or the situation was favorable to them (bears in bad weather Caleb getting hurt). They have a legit top 3 D but that offense is trash.

If JJ wants out, it makes total sense to ship him to SF, no one is giving up anything for him besides us. He's got 2 catches this yr.

Secondly, I would say most mid season WR trades are bust..just not enough time to get the scheme, run routes how Kyle wants them done and make a connection with the QB. Not an issue with JJ.

Jeudy imo is not a Kyle WR. Yes he can separate, but he doesn't block and is soft as baby s**t.

I agree with you on Minnesota about them being a fake 5-0 team. And they would probably trade JJ to us. Problem I see is that I don't think Lynch is willing to take on his contract to be the #3 WR or #4. Nor do I think he would be willing to give up anymore than a 7th round pick. And what makes us think Minny would take a 7th?

I like what you said in another post, let's ask Houston for one of their back up WR's. Would love it if they could get Xavier Hutchinson, Brock's WR in college.

As for Jeudy, he can't be any bad of a blocker than Cowing who has seen a lot time on the field. Jeudy has been a decent WR and wouldn't cost as much, he will definitely warrant a higher draft pick though. I also don't think he's as soft as you say he is, maybe earlier in his career but last season he was catching passes over the middle, not going down on first contact. I just like the route running and separation he gets, dude gets open.

I like Jeudy as a trade option, but with that said I do have my doubts Shanahan thinks he is. He just doesn't seem to like Alabama WR's for some reason IMO. I say this because I've been a fan of Bama WR's for a long time and I can't remember Shanahan bringing any of them in for pre-draft workouts. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

You're right that no team will trade their #2 let alone a potential #1 WR because they themselves will need him going forward. Unless it's a Harrison Jr. type that is considered to be a bust.

Also, if one is acquired it has to be someone that will complement Evans and takes the top off to pull the safety occasionally away from Evans in my opinion.

And, why do that like you said when 3- 4 of the guys that they planned on having to begin with will start coming back in a couple of weeks.

Plus, Redskins are good but not Seahawk defense, Falcons are good but not Seahawk defense.

Vikes may seem like a fake 5-0 team on this board (I don't disagree) but what matters is how the Vikes feel about themselves in their building. Doubt they have felt this good about themselves dating back to when they had Darnold & before that, Cousins. They aren't shipping off a receiver they use lightly to help stabilize another team they are directly competing with both later this season, for the #1 NFC seed & potentially in the playoffs. I'll gladly eat crow on this if he does magically get traded back here because I love me some JJ. He's a tone setter, much like Deebo & Greenlaw, & his chemistry with Purdy is something that doesn't just develop over night.

Right no one I moving a high end WR unless we vastly overpay…which isn't worth it given who we still have on the roster

Well this is a bit misleading in the fact of who Brock was throwing the ball to and when…JJ was the default WR1 for this team last yr.

He's never been some crazy separator, no one is asking him to be. No different than someone like Boldin throughout his career.

Also no one is asking him to be a WR1 in this situation….just been who you've been the past couple years. Dependable on those 3rd downs, run the routes how they're suppose to be run, be a plus WR in the RZ and block your ass off.

and don't be dumb with the turn him into a TE thing. He would be a great addition to the WR room right now, he would be cheap and can come in and contribute right away.
