I think the smart play is to see what they have and make a deal during the year. That is not fun or exciting but it's probably the wisest move. I'm not as eager to trade Mykell as a lot of people seem to be. I think Mykell will be a beast on the inside. Pressure up the middle is more effective than pressure off the edge but both are a must have.

Umm Maxx is older by about 2 months

From google

Maxx Crosby is older than Nick Bosa by exactly two months. [1]

What about snap counts.
I keep seeing these proposed trades for guys like Crosby - am I the only one that thinks they're wild? Latest one was a first, second, and Mykel Williams? That's WAY too much, IMO.

I love Crosby and would love to get him but at that expense? Nah I'm good. I think Williams is going to be incredible for us. 2027 is a stacked draft. Ontop of that, Crosby is a large carry on the salary cap.

only way that trade makes sense is if it puts us over the top to win the SB, which trading a talent like Williams would be a big loss for the d line - he was awesome for a rookie. I'm down to trade a couple seconds and maybe a third or so.

idk, that just seems like a hefty price. We need to keep restocking youth, especially on offense going forward. Those first and second round picks will be very valuable if we can hit on them. I really like the last two drafts

I agree that might be too much for Crosby. He's a great player but he plays with a high motor which can lead to more wear and tear. William plus a 2nd or a 1st and 2nd but not all 3.

Agree. Not sure we finally go OL in the 1st next year, but I always hold out hope.

I'm also very high on Williams. He held his own as a rookie without the benefit of Bosa the majority of his 9 games total played. Looking forward to year 2 with the rotation he will have this year.

The 1st and 2nd round picks are only valuable if you hit on them. If you miss they aren't worth anything. As for going OL in the 1st it really depends on whose there when they pick. That's always the case. I'm always for going for best player in the first round since the quality starts dropping off after that. You can still find gems in the later rounds but generally speaking the blue chip guys are gone afte rthe first 15 picks or so.

Well, that pretty much applies to every draft pick, doesn't it? Statistically, the higher the pick the better odds of getting a hit, so we should be keeping our high picks and keeping Williams, not trading them away for an older player, even if it is for Crosby. Gotta get younger cheaper talent if we want to go and get #6. Very hard to do that if we trade away a good pick from a year ago, along with a 1st and 2nd future pick, and then have to take on a big salary. No thanks.

Of course it's true on all picks but most fans feel that those first 2 rounds are much more important. I'm not so sure but that's a common theme on this website. Constant complaints about missing on early picks but not enough praise for hitting on mid to late round picks. If you end up with a star player it doesn't really matter if you got him in the 1st, 5th or 7th round. My feelings are the 1st round is really only more important if you're picking in the top 15. Maybe top 20 in a strong draft year. After that the difference between a late first or early 2nd is much different than a 3rd or 4th rounder.
If we did get Max - IMO, neither he nor Bosa will get double teamed as much which should help both.

Heres that BIG edge rusher signing.
