In as far as leaks go- since JL and KL came on, unlike the Baalke era, nothing was really leaked that they did not care if it was known. John Lynch has said it a thousand times, you hear stuff, you inquire. Then the other side will leak it out to the press that the niners are interested to try to get others to increase getting more from other teams. Outsiders making guesses, is pure speculation and like Grant Cohn and a broken clock that is correct twice a day, anybody can say I called it. Doesn't mean there was a leak or they have inside information. Look at this years draft.

We wouldn't give up the capital to get MG, but all of a sudden we are all in to get MC??? This doesn't make much sense IMO.
I think the 49ers would've gave up the capital, they just didn't have the player to give.
The picks were a 2027 1st, 2028 2nd, and 2029 3rd. What is Jared Verse's draft pick compensation value? One 1st? Two 1sts? Barnwell at ESPN suggest his value on the market would have been a one 1st plus "a significant additional selection, potentially a second-round pick". Some of the local commentators in LA valued Verse at two 1sts. SBNation ran an internal poll amongst the producers site-wide and they had Verse pegged at a 1st+2nd (65%), two 1sts (19%), and one 1st (16%).
I get it though. Verse wasn't added as part of the trade until the very end. It's what pushed the Browns into agreeing. Where I am at is that this is a fun exercise to see the same people who complain about how bad Lynch drafts are in the first two days make the case that the 49ers shouldn't dump those picks into Myles Garrett.

If the Raiders want a similar package to that, I don't see how the 49ers can be in on it.
- Ravens - 26 1st (pick 14) + 27 1st
- Bears - 26 1st (pick 25) + 27 1st
- Rams - A package of picks valued to be almost two 1sts.
- Cowboys - 3 offers
- 26 1st (pick 12) + Osa Odighizuwa
- 26 1st (pick 12) + 27 3rd
- 26 1st (pick 12) + 27 2nd + undisclosed players
- Jaguars - A package of picks that didn't include a 26 1st as they didn't have one.
- Patriots - 26 1st (pick 31) + player, reported by ESPN that Brady said no to any trade to the Pats
The Raiders had been insistent on two things.
- They want two first-round picks for Crosby at a minimum.
- They will not trade Crosby to the Patriots.
Since then, the Ravens are out on Crosby. The Cowboys are out on Crosby. Crosby had preferred to go to New England, but after the failed trade no longer wants out of Las Vegas. Florio reported Crosby's issues with the Raiders were organizational as he didn't like Brady bringing in Alex Guerrero (Brady's TB12 partner) to be the Wellness Coordinator for the team.

Idk why people can't comprehend that part.
The deal wasn't really redone all that differently though, not sure if that had much to do with it, unless you mean when the Browns and Garrret redid it to push back to option bonus in 2026 to allow for them to deal him, then yes.

I just don't think we are in the market for Crosby, I don't think the contract lines up and I doubt the Raiders would deal him to us.
I think this is clickbait at best.

Why I don't see it happening right now, I don't see his contract as an issue at all, even if they traded for him they end up redoing it and his cap hit would go from like $30.69M to $1.905M, and then you'd just carryover the $28.028M savings into 2027, which would be a $29.782M, plus the $5.75M in prorated money, so $35.532M, so that $28.028M nearly covers that, and they can redo any of Brock, CMC, Bosa, Osa, Warner & DMo, which saves over $83M combined, so it's not that big of an issue TBH, plus for 2028 he'd have a $27.282M cap hit, and they end up saving over $40M once they cut Aiyuk, so again not bad IMO, but I doubt it happens.

Why they say nuclear hot Crosby on home page.I doubt it. I was on yahoo last night and they had the same NE nuclear hot for Crosby. And believe it or not I saw nuclear hot Eagles.
I would love it and give two 1s but the 9ers are not the Rams and it just won't happen. Watch him end up on the Eagles and be a pain in our arse during playoffs.

That's part of this same story. The Hondo Carpenter guy has been speculating various Edge Rushers to the 49ers at different points this offseason.

Good job as always AB, I wasn't saying they can't do it I am saying they won't do it.
I don't think this type of trade is what our FO wants at this point. We got rid of a lot last year saying we wanted to get "younger" so I just don't see them making a trade like this now.

Yeah I just don't see it happening now after the way the Ravens backed out and especially if that knee is as bad as it appears to be, no way I'd throw 2 1st rd picks for him, but I agree i doubt they do this and give up a lot of picks when they need to get younger, now if this is say 4-8 weeks into tie season and we're say 6-2 or better I can see us trying to get it done but doubt it happens right now
