Just wondering if we traded for Maxx Crosby, Patrick Surtain and Derrick Brown? Hopefully we are at least linked to them.

We signed Sincere McCormick.
Is that something you might be interested in?

If BA ever comes back we're still on the hook for his remaining contract, or the dead cap associated with it when we release him.
That is one reason why the 49ers are not eager to part with their current abundance of cap space. We're already over the 2027 cap as it is.

When someone takes the negative spin against the team 100% sometimes he will be right. We'll see whether his complaints about the draft will prove to be warranted. I'm old enough to remember when Grant was claiming 49ers drafting Nick Bosa would be a huge mistake…
He and Lombardi are the same, just opposite sides of the spectrum. Grant will prop up any rival if he can and dig into the 49ers. Like I said it's not a shock that a Seahawks fan would enjoy hearing someone praising their team and bashing the 49ers lol.
Schneider had quite a few bad drafts with Pete, which led to their split, but he has 3 Lombardis as a GM (1 with the Packers) and probably should have 4 if Bilbo Baggins doesn't throw a pick at the goal line. You're not gonna hit on every draft pick. My God I've scratched my head at some of Pete's draft picks so I tend to agree you.
With John Lynch he would have a better draft record by himself without Kyle's input. Kyle is a brilliant coach but I would keep him away from the draft board

Gosh, your takes on the niners are so original. Nice to have an opposing fan filter their Niner thoughts through national media hot takes and Grant f**king Cohn. 🤡

Thanks...I think. Have you seen his food vlogs? He does one at every Niner away game. Our clubhouse hosted him at a barbecue before the playoff game up here on the Lake we had a blast

I'm just speaking for myself but I don't mind an opposing fan coming in here to talk ball as long as they're being respectful and I haven't seen any of his posts to indicate that he hasn't been.
Like I said, I get why he likes Grant. If there was a Seahawks beat guy who constantly trashed every move they made I'm sure we'd want him to be 100% right all the time lol.
And I also think Kyle would be better off having a legit GM have power over the draft. I like John but I don't think he's the best guy for the job though at the same time whatever they've done together is still very impressive and as I said several times in this thread they had teams built that should've won at least 2 SBs if we simply got better officiating. But I do think Kyle would benefit from someone else getting the groceries but with Kyle letting that guy know what he's looking to cook up.

Just want to jump in. The quote from Breer? About 49ers 6-1 raiders 1-6 is so stupid.
If the team is 6-1 they likely do not need THAT help. Warner, Bosa, Williams are likely at optimal health.
It is if they are 4-3 with tough losses to the Seahawks, Rams, and/or Broncos that might trigger that level of commitment.

But we also have to see where the pass rush is at 6-1? If they're winning in spite of it then yes they do need to make a trade to strengthen their pass rush. Would they need to invest a 1st round pick to do it, I doubt it. Sorta like they did in 2023 when they only spent a 3rd round pick for Chase Young. Honestly just sign Joey Bosa, close up shop till training camp and be done with all these rumors.

I appreciate an opposing fans with nuanced perspectives. Coming in here to regurgitate national media hot takes is clown behavior (example: Strib was a 3rd round WR). I'd be rightfully excoriated if I went to .net and spouted the most inane takes I could drum up from click bait sources. I don't suffer fools, be they 9er fans or from beyond.

Exactly. Similar to what the Colts did last year...though hopefully with drastically different results.
Now if the pass rush is producing at an extremely high level and is helping us win all those games then maybe it's too much to give up for a guy that's great but maybe won't move the needle enough and may mess with what's working.
However pass rush is one thing you can never have enough of. So hard to imagine adding a Crosby to whatever we'd have wouldn't make us a stronger team but it's all about balancing the present and the future. Also depends where Seattle and LA are at the time too imo.
Let's just hope we find ourselves in that situation to worry about it being a potential move.
