Golden helmets are character awards given out to guys that check every box on a list they have. They use that plus the talent evaluation plus other criteria in setting up there board. Lynch said they had 16 guys with golden helmets in this draft. Guys they've acknowledged in the past as Golden Helmet guys are Solomon Thomas, George Kittle, Fred Warner, Colton McKivitz, Trey Lance, Talanoa Hufanga, Ji'Ayir Brown, Brayden Willis, and now Stribling.

Good info.

i didn't realize it was strictly character. Clearly Aiyuk, Foster, and Sermon were not golden helmet types. But from the names provided they must really value them more than other measurables. .

We'll see. I mean if nothing changes and our early round busts continue every year; I'm pretty sure more than Grant will start questioning things.

There's a reason Lynch hasn't been extended. The Kyle extension conversations will be very interesting to follow in offseason.

The overreaction to the draft is comical. People need to calm their titties down. No one knows how these guys are gonna turn out. I think kyle and john have earned our grace. We are always in superbowl contention. LET THEM COOK. Everyone needs to R.E.L.A.X. People say reach this reach that. Based on what? Like what john said it wasnt reaches in their boards. Every team has different boards that differ greatly from the so called "consensus"

Aiyuk was never confirmed a golden helmet but the way Lynch talked about him and the conversations he had with Herm, I wouldn't be shocked if he were.

In regards to winning games when not devastated by key injuries? Yes.

In regards to drafting RBs in the 3rd round lol? 😬

Yeah; I didn't even say that Lynch in particular would get fired or what have you, I just said that I would expect to see some changes. Whether that is Lynch being fired; different role; Shanny having less say; less coach involvement or influence; whatever it is that they have been doing has not yielded good results on day 1 and 2 of the draft. There's no debating that.

The annual RB pick doesn't even deserve discussion with how bad that has been.

I've said I'm okay with this draft. But, I'm glad they didn't draft in the 1st round or it would be doomsday. This regime always needs to look to move out of the 1st round.

The picks aren't flashy but will be productive.

The only way to have it been hit out of the park is if they've had drafted a stud Center and Left Guard in that order with the first two picks!

Personally I'd rather they trade down their day one picks every draft season unless there's a "so called" can't miss prospect they want at (for example at pick 32). If every Kyle Shanahan derived team (LA, Seattle, green bay, Saleh, Mike McDaniels etc...) is going to poach your day one draft picks, might as well trade down to day two.

I think it's a lot harder to poach draft picks in day two and day three since everyone is going by their own way by then. They really aren't paying attention to other teams picks at that point.

I would agree. Kyle needs to coach. Let the scouting department do the evaluations.

That success is attributed to Kyles coaching and striking gold with Purdy he saved them from the Lance fiasco.

Yup, Purdy saved *both* their azzez. That's why they paid Purdy the big bucks. Its called job security. ShanaLynch isn't going anywhere as long as they keep Purdy alive and we'll. I almost guarantee it.
This draft doesn't indicate that they value keeping him alive and well.

Heh, maybe thats why they kept Mac Jones.

But seriously, drafting Kaelon's ability to protect Brock goes a long way to keeping Brock alive. It helps too when Brock can hand it off to an RB and let the RB's take a beating instead of the QB.

Factor in Foerster's ability to make lemon OLinemen into great Lemonade (UDFA Brendel, Colton Mckivitz), and you have carver and Enrique being potential starters in the near future. If you look just solely at Enrique's athleticism stats - he compares favorably to Trent Williams. We'll see what he turns into, but Foerster has done some OLine miracles in the past.
Sure Kaelons blocking ability is much more valuable than adding a talented lineman to the mix.

Foerster sucks as does Brendel and the fact that McKivitz is the only lineman hes developed in all this time speaks to the fact and McKivitz isn't exactly a world beater.

What miracle has Forester performed ever?

Well if we are going off that he's got a 50% chance of being a good player or 50% chance of being booty cheeks

Agree, how many NFL teams have the 'consensus' draft rankings in their draft room ? None. I bet they don't even look at it. And the same consensus are putting out draft grades before the player steps into training camp.

Well if it's on twitter (or whatever they call it this week) we might as well shut up shop. That's it. We're doomed. It's over. 0-17.

I especially like the bit about the Yorks caring about negative hot takes. I think you will find they're too busy counting their gold and planning new big warehouses in the place of the old ones that they will tear down.
