I'm not thrilled with the value we got moving down from 30 and giving up the 5th year option but at the same time it gives you a chance at another player to hit on regardless of how low and picking at the top of the 2nd round is excellent in two ways.

1. If you still want to trade down you should have a bunch of offers after teams reshuffle their draft boards and target someone they have to have.

2. It allows you to do the same thing and really lock in on who you want to take there.

Personally I'd take EMW but I'd be good with a bunch of players there which is why another trade down could be smarter.

Really the main guy I didn't want us taking went off the board to the Pats.

Finally making some good moves. THANKS AI!!!
That first pick to start the second round is sooo f**king valuable. Teams are going to reset their boards and want to move up. They're now in a position to leverage that spot. They can afford to make a small trade back, acquire another pick, and still address one of their biggest needs at left guard with Bisontis or Pregnon. You're not winning the NFCW if you can't block Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy or Kobie Turner.

Lynch is cooking so far.

Ive long since believed that unless you're talking QB that 5th year option isn't really that much of a big deal

Could be. Honestly I'd be happy with like 4,5 guys there. So many options
Couldn't care less about the 5th year option. We've used it once in 10 years and McGlinchey was gone right after. Players these days generally just don't last until their 5th year without producing and demanding a new contract or not producing and getting moved on. If they get a 5th year it's because they're somewhere in the middle playing inconsistent but showing flashes.

We gave up pick 92 for Osa, and still ended up with the 90th pick anyway. If someone had offered this trade pre-draft I would have absolutely taken it.

30th, 90th, Osa
27th, 92nd, 138

Now we can talk about value of the trade down from 30-33, but again, the 5th year means little to me personally so I view it differently. A free 5th (which we usually do well with) in exchange for trading down to 33 - a spot where there will be players we like - I can live with that.

Of course this is all dependent on what we do with the picks. No point nailing the foreplay if you can't bring it home for the finish.
Lynch once again fumbles a layup

I've had issues with Lynch, especially in the draft, but what exactly did he fumble tonight? Be specific, not some dumb trope.

Multiple quality starters at positions of need on the board and we missed all of them
