Was he intoxicated at work? I don't understand why he had to go... what a man does at home is his own biz
Scotty Mac has gone on record saying his drinking had gotten out of hand.
There was enough respect not to air his dirty laundry.
If I had to guess I would say there was likely a drunk driving situation and having to use influence to cover it up situation.
My guess is that something happened at work drinking related or too many people reported something about him drinking related.
Also, when you're in jobs like the GM of a professional sports team - what you say and do outside of work matters. When you have a public facing job, you lose the whole "I wasn't at work so why does it matter" thing.
you're always representing the team and are compensated for that. What you do and say reflects on the team, for better or worse.

I think there's a lot of heavy drinking going on in most organizations
I think a lot of stuff goes on that would surprise a lot of people.
Two things:
1. I knew a guy who was a well known player and eventual coach in college - he told me that most coaches are raging alcoholics. Which I personally don't care but makes sense.
2. they're people, just like the rest of us. When I go to national commercial real estate development conventions (ICSC: Las Vegas/Austin/NY/Orlando etc) - the amount of cheating wives equals the amount of cheating husbands.
a majority of people in marriages aren't exactly happy. They mainly settled - which overtime turns into doing stuff with people because you're really not getting it in your marriage, most of the time for years. Being in a relationship that you're not sold out on is a hellish kind of loneliness.
ultimately, none of it surprises me. They're everyday people and do what most everyday people would do in situations like this - especially people who work super long hours.
im not saying it's right, i just believe it's a lot of situations of marriages. I've seen it a million times.
