You're setting yourself up for a huge letdown if you think they are going to hit on all 6 picks. That has maybe been done a handful of times in the history of the draft. In reality a successful draft class is hitting on 3 or 4 players and when i say "hit" i mean average players or better. If you get 2 pro bowl caliber players that's a huge success.

a great draft is if you have 2 players in entire draft that will start for you

You mean a great draft for Lynch. Competent GMs usually have a higher hit rate.

Not really.

Feel free to show us. Pick any teams draft class from 2017 until 2024 and post them on here. You aren't going to find 1 GM who consistently hits on 3+ players each year..

Probably why he hasnt been signed yet by anyone. I'd imagine he wont get signed until after the draft.

He did sign for pretty reasonable price last season. I think he's just waiting for the right place.

This is why I don't have OL in the first round for us.

Still throwing darts at the board for a serviceable LG so we're not going for a "can play LG for a year" type of OT.

We're not taking an OT in round 1 just to sit him for a year or two.

Only way we take an OT is if he's straight up replacing Trent and I'm not considering that right now.

DE/WR/DB are our first 3 picks imo, but not necessarily in that order.

Really hope this isn't Lynch & Shanny's logic but you are probably right. Imo we have a major hole at LG & a gigantic future hole at LT. We can address both this draft with a quality candidate like Lomu or the Arizona State OT, Proctor from Bama or the Clemson OT. Start them at LG now & when Trent hangs it up, they slide over to LT. Don't think it's smart deciding to fill that LT hole the same year that Trent calls it quits. Would be ideal for someone to play next to him & learn from him before they take over the LT reigns full time.

would be bonkers. lol it would also likely mean we have little to no draft picks for this year.

He could also just be posting about March madness

much more likely than him being traded to us. I think there is about as close to zero chance of us getting him as possible. he's close with Mark Davis and Mark hates the 49ers. I've hoped we could get him cause maybe others could influence Mark with the current ownership group but understood its a super long shot.

Not likely to find a day one starter that low in the draft.

what is your suggestion?

Perhaps trade up is the only thing I see.

thats not really fair to average it that way.

the offense is the oldest in the league.

The defense is among the youngest in league.

Well, Trent Williams is 37, Kyle Juszczyk is 34, and between them they boost the average rather seriously. Other than those two the O is quite young. Nothing to worry about.

agree. "oldest team in the league" is a little misleading.

Totally agree about the defense being one of the youngest but average wise according to google, 49ers are among the teams with the most players aged 29 or older, ranking as one of the oldest teams in the league. No intention to argue here but I just think it's a legitimate concern that's all.

this has to be the last year of a SB "window"

in 2 years I don't see trent, kittle, cmc, juice etc on the team.
As long as we have Shanny, the window is always open

Haha. I love KS but there have been a few years that window certainly wasnt open.

was easier when Seattle and LA were rebuilding.

this year is going to be a dog fight but I do believe the window is wide open this upcoming season for sure.
