Bosa would be rotational Williams also has a huge amount of versitility and can play inside at DT as well. Williams i would imagine would get more time at EDGE than Bosa.

I think this is more of getting a rotation asking 4 guys to give it all every play for an entire drive is unrealistic this way we can sub peeople and keep everyone fresh i would imagine it would lower injury risj too

So we take out OSA and slide Williams inside?

5-man fronts are for 1st and 2nd down and Morris likes to play a linebacker on the edge on those fronts.

I think we need at least 3 more quality DEs, and I don't want them all being rookies.

either we trade for a quality player or sign Joey and/or Cameron Jordan. I think we will draft a rookie DE with our first.

so we'd have Nick Bosa a full time starter on one side and he'd get breaks through Jordan/Joey.

then the other side would be a combination of Joey bosa/cameron Jordan/ 1st round rookie. That would provide the depth and veteran leadership.

we could even have 2 rookies in that scenario to learn and grow from 3 absolute studs of their generation and the tail end of their career.

I don't want our entire pass rush on the DE to come through Nick and 3 rookies. We can't do what we did with DT last year, IMO. It's not effective enough to compete at the end of the year, IMO.

yeah i was leaning more towards early downs for those 5 man fronts

Why would we do that if Williams isn't a pass rusher?

Collins would make sense in the middle with Osa IMO, at the least he would draw a double team.
Seems like 9ers are teeing up flexibility for a trade - maybe during the draft? They restructured Bosa -- don't have a 3rd anymore with Osa trade -- and don't have a 5th - 6th - or 7th. I think the remaining FA are gonna sit until post-draft.

With trade rumors around Renaldo Green - I doubt he could command a 3rd in a trade - maybe a 6th and 7th? Seems like the Mac market is gone now with Vikings, AZ, Jets, and Dolphins filling their needs.

Any moves you see happening with the 9ers latest maneuvers and roster?
Still need a starting caliber LG, Edge (Huff replacement), S, and WR depth

I feel like we will do another trade as well and probably sign another guard in free agency... Then fill the other spots in the draft.
If the Niners do as well in the drft as they have in the off season free agncy and trades I'll be happy. No blockbuster dels but they've acquired players that cna help and that's all you can expect. With the 27th pick I'm not expecting a big time player but just get a solid guy that can improve the team. He doesn't have to be a major star. Of course if he is that's even better.

Williams had decent pressure numbers before the injury. He was doing pretty well from the inside and is by far the better option to rush from inside on passing downs.

This we rushed him on the inside on nickel situations. He has good length and strength for someone his age. Many rookies will still be older than him coming into the next season

Don't think we need a separate thread for a hypothetical trade that may never happen. We can discuss the possibilities in the Lynch thread.
