No but I think some juice in the pass rush would help. We are dead last in pass rush. We need some kinda help.

Do you believe Jaelan Phillips was the juice?

More than Clelin Farrel or whomever we would draft in the 3rd

We took Nick Martin 20 picks before him.

Jonas Sanker was available too. 78 tackles, 6 PD, 2 INT

But surprise, surprise we reached and took a bust in the 3rd round. There was a ton of good players available when we took Martin.

I wanted Watts and thought the Martin and Stout picks were major reaches(seems like Stout is a player at least) but once again calling Martin a bust after one year is dumb.

Tho having Watts right now definitely would've been better but with our luck he'd be injured too.

Maybe a bust is an over reaction but it does seem like we reached on him. I didn't see one publication that had him taken before the 5th.

And it doesn't seem like he will leapfrog Winters and he apparently can't play SAM so he will be a depth LB and special teamer for the foreseeable future.

It just seems like with so many other picks (especially in the 3rd round) that these guys reach on players when there are far superior players still on the board. It happens every year.

Their stats are not far off. The difference is Philly has players all over that D so adding another guy is like giving a chess player 3 knights to work with. Whatever impact you think Phillips has wouldn't be anywhere near the same level here because Phillips by himself is not a difference maker and we don't have any difference makers. Phillips on a defense with Bosa, Warner, and Williams would move the needle. Phillips on this defense would not. Let's not act like Phillips is Fred Dean or Charles Haley over there.

I disagree with your opinion.
the only 3 FAs that are worth resigning are robinson, pineiro and tonges

the 4th would be jennings only if its a reasonable deal

all the rest should walk away
regarding draft, i would trade mac jones for a 2nd round pick and get LT, LG and WR (whichever bpa is out of those 3 positions) with the first 3 picks, the 1st and the 2 2nds
GB claimed Trevon Diggs off waivers, the 49ers never had a chance to get him.

Wonder if they were thinking about it.

We'll never know since GB has a higher waiver claim than we do.

Tonges is a RFA and will be back unless someone throws a big offer sheet his way. He will probably get a 2nd round tender.

Pinero is must sign. As is Skyy Moore. I think Shanahan will involve him more in the offense as time goes on.

Jennings. I'd do the 3 year 60 mil deal that Jacoby Meyers got in a heartbeat. We have no-one who can replace him and his red zone presence and blocking cannot be replaced by a rookie.

Robinson? Meh, he's a dime a dozen back and we have Jordan James in the fold. If he wants Jordan Mason money he can walk

Burford needs to be brought back. He has excelled at LG and has really stabilized the Oline. Same with Hennessey. He is a valuable backup.

Hufunga is a 2nd team All Pro on this list

I disagree with he wouldn't be a difference maker. I don't think anyone was pretending he was Dean or Haley either.

Phillips here would have absolutely made a difference on the leagues worst DL. Is what it is, lynch didn't pull the trigger and we can't sniff a sack.

I just don't see anyone giving up a 2nd for Mac. I would take that in a heartbeat.

I agree. And it's not like our 3rd round picks have helped us at all.

I could see a deal of Mac and one of our 4th's to Indy for Jones. They need a QB desperately
