Its been nearly 10 years but people still act like Lynch is the one who has final say on draft picks

I laugh when hear our fans complain about Lynch and Kyle. Look around the league and see how most other teams have done in those years since Lynch and Kyle were hired. Obviously KC and the Ravens have been better and Philadelpia too. Maybe the Rams. Other than that we've seen constant coaching and GM changes around the league and most end poorly. The Niners hav ebeen competivie every season since these 2 rebuilt a horrible team. The only times they've failed to get into the playoffs was when they were hit hard with injuries. All but 4 or 5 teams would gladly take this duo.

I think the niners management is in the top 4 in the league. Financial mgmt, coaching, cap management, draft, FA, culture (!), etc. The team has had several high quality runs with some bad luck at the end.

KC
Philadelphia
Seattle (Same amount of playoff misses in the same timespan)
Pittsburg
LA Rams
Buffalo
Green Bay
Detroit
Baltimore

I'm not saying all of these are better than what SF has but top 4 is probably a stretch.

One can argue that the niners tend to be more streaky season by season, but that is fully due to injuries to key players. That said, no way that Seattle, Green Bay, Detroit, and frankly Pittsburgh belong on the same level. So maybe top 5. The niners were literally the best team in football two years ago, and due to some really unfortunate happenings (injures and zebras), they would be champions.

I wasn't implying all of those teams were better but all of those teams have been right up there with SF for the last couple of years and Pit just simply never has a season with a losing record. One could also say if this regime would have prioritized the OL instead of flopping on DL picks they could have won the second SB instead of having Chris Jones pound them inside when the QB needed time to throw on the last drive. It was a repeat of 2019.
Totally mismanaged team. Has been for a while, f**ked up Purdy's injury even more. F these dumbasses tbh
Can't wait for him to tell us that they tried really hard to make a trade
I see we're being calm and collected here like always…

I would've liked us to make a trade but I have no issue with them not overpaying for guys who aren't good enough to build around.

I think if we're being honest with ourselves it's pretty clear we don't have a SB roster right now. Adding Jermaine Johnson, Bradley Chubb or anyone that was traded today wouldn't have changed that. There is no Fred Warner out there to pick up. None of those guys were Bosa.

We had too many injuries and clearly other teams were trying to use our desperation to their advantage.

I just want to see what this team can accomplish the rest of the way and Sunday will be eye opening one way or another.

I think the team sees the lack of trade here not as a negative but an opportunity to prove something. Do we have enough bodies to get something done? I'd love to find out.

It sucks we never got to watch the team at full health to know what they would look like on the field but I think the front office was looking ahead even from week 1. I'd rather the team be realistic with their expectations and not look to trade by overpaying just to do something.

And as a reminder…they did trade for White, Moore and Huff. It's not like they weren't at least trying.

I hear you. I just want people to realize that the niners are well run. There are always things to disagree with as to player decisions. But this team always has a plan and has built a quality culture and structure. Also, that list is a quality list. Any team on it possess key strong qualities.

Side note - I cannot believe the number of injuries this year, and it is really league wide.

Agree with this. Also, the niners had two strong drafts in '24 and '25. They were setup to have a strong '26 draft. I don't think management wanted to give up any day 1 or 2 picks, given they need to focus on Oline.

It would have been nice If Lynch had at least made an effort to trade for QW.

Facts. We would have been much bigger fools to let teams fleece us and take advantage of our situation, damaging our future hopes/resources even more.

I was hoping something would materialize, but there wasn't anything that made total sense for us. Can't force it when that's the case. Sucks but it is what it is.

Get offensive firepower back, get a few defenders healthy. Do what we can with that.
