Have they been that good? Pearsall—who is supremely talented—has missed most of this season. Green has gotten cooked. Puni has regressed. Mustapha hits like a missile, but takes bad angles and can't cover. Cowing is hurt and never sees the field, and Guerendo hasn't taken one offensive snap this season.

And this year? Williams is solid against the run, and that's it. You don't draft an edge-setter with no pass rush moves with the 11th pick. Collins has shown promise. Stout does well against the run but is too handsy in coverage. Sigle has been benched.

Kind of amazing people seem to take it for granted that we are close. Even with all of injuries and the thin state of the roster.

I guess they forgot the '24 season and the terrible drafting between '20 and '23 that preceded it, which led to said thin roster (aka lack of depth).
