I wouldn't say hes their best, but a good/great player for them so yes, if theres a chance they wont resign with your team in the future. Thibo would be on his last year of his 5th year iirc and they would be desperate to get anything. Giants would get more picks for their future while SF gets a pass rusher to try and replace Bosa's production. Its a win win and easy one for both teams.

Bengals need a QB. Mac Jones for Trey Hendrickson straight up. Call it a day.

I know there's a 50% chance you're joking, but if the Bengals trade Hendrickson they're throwing the white flag in on this season. Going from Browning to Mac Jones isn't really going to help them any.

If they trade Hendrickson, it'll be for draft capital, and MAYBE a young player that can help them well beyond this year. But the only young player I could see us trading is Brown. But then again would you feel comfortable trading important depth?

Mac Jones is worth more to us than any edge rusher. We're not going to win a lot of games with Trey Hendrickson if Adrian Martinez is under center.

Only thing I'd say about Thibodeaux is he seems like the odd man out on that DL rotation with Burns and Abdul Carter. He also has only one year left on his contract so while trading young players is never a good thing...if they're not in your budget and you only have them for one more year and your season this year is toast...that can make deals happen.

I'd love to bring the guy in for sure cuz we clearly have a need and I think Coach K can bring out the best in him but the price has to be worth it and I'm a little concerned about him as a locker room guy but we had no problem bringing in Randy Gregory in 2023 who definitely had more concerns there.

That's funny, because I was half joking. I truly think we could trade for him for a second rounder next year and a fourth rounder either next year or the following year.

Yeah that's exactly the kind of deal I'm thinking. These nonsense proposals involving 1st round picks and any players other than Brown are just that: nonsense.

But are you doing so knowing he could walk at the end of the year? If so that's still too rich for me for a 14 game rental.

I don't know how many times this needs to be repeated:

In 2021, the Rams traded a 2nd and a 3rd for an 8 game rental (plus playoffs) in Von Miller.

They then won the Super Bowl and everyone worshipped the move, despite Miller walking for nothing afterwards.

A 2nd and 4th for Hendrickson is really not that crazy. Maybe we could try tagging and trading him after the season, who knows.

I wonder if the Rams would have still made that move if Aaron Donald, Stafford, and Kupp were all injured or on IR, because that's basically the situation we're in right now.

Excellent point. The Rams made the move because their defense was already excellent and adding a top level edge rusher to their dominant interior DL took them to another level.

They were right up there as the SB favorites and considered by many as a super team with all the guys they added. Vastly different circumstances.

Of course IF we show that our defense is still strong even against better competition then it may make sense to make that move and hope he's the missing piece with Nick out so we can play at our best vs the top tier offenses. But right now as much as I love our squad, i find that hard to believe.

I don't see a Hendrickson deal going down this early in the season without a contract extension. No rental deal. Lynch doesn't roll that way.

I expect Lynch to see how we do against the Jags before he begins to get serious. If Cincy loses badly, and Lynch is willing to use something like a 2026 2nd and a 2027 3rd, a deal might be made before the Rams game. I don't see that happening but I didn't see CMC coming the way he did either.

CMC happened fairly close to the trade deadline, albeit a week or two before.

I agree that trading for Hendrickson right now is extremely unlikely. I would argue it doesn't even become a possibility until after the Bengals play the Steelers on October 16th (Thursday). If the Bengals get spanked in that game, then they might begin to listen to offers. More than likely it would happen the day before or of the deadline November 4th). By then, we'll have played 9 games and so will have the Bengals.
