It's such a moronic, un-nuanced take.

Nobody in the right mind believes JL (very bright guy) picked ST just cause he went to class with him

I don't buy the narrative that JL chose Thomas cause of college, he was a consensus top 5-10 pick, it is what it is, he's still in the league, so he didn't completely flame out like Foster did, thought IMO that's more on the bad info Nick Saban gave the 49ers on him, he was a head case off the field, like Aldon Smith was, but not quite as bad.

Nick was in no way in control of Foster's behavior once he got to the NFL.. Nor was Warren Moons HC in college even after he made it to the HOF..

We chose Foster because of the ability that he did possessed, heck, we took Akilex Smith over Aaron because Aaron asked Nolan what does jumping rope had to do w/playing QB in the NFL..

we still need another corner? I'm sure he will be out of our budget.

I think we should kick the tyres, worked pretty well for us with Jason Verrett. Heavily incentivised contract, let's get it done. He'll probably go and join Lattimore on the Commanders though.

I doubt we pick him up if but would be a nice addition opposite demo - or gives us more flexibility with demo.
I'd be good with it but it's also not a must have for me.

Excellent player when he's on the field...problem is he has missed a lot of time lately and I don't see him looking to take a prove it deal. He's going to go somewhere that they'll pay him big $. I don't know if that's worth the investment.

Solid call!!

IMO, same thing w/Alexander who was just released by the Packers. He's an injury waiting to happen.

That's who we're talking about, Pratt isn't a fit for us, too slow and not enough coverage ability, better off sticking with the youngsters

I can't see him attracting big $, no trade market and the Packers would have taken a cheese sandwich and a bag of pretzels. That says to me it was the contract, so I doubt someone will now be willing to pay up.

Verrett barely played.
With the injury history I think teams would throw one year prove it deals at Alexander.

I wonder if anyone will actually give him a big money deal.

Exactly what I thought when I saw that.

I'm in the same boat here. He's only played 7 games in the last 2 seasons. Highly doubt he takes a prove it deal here. I'm not against it though if it does happen, but at the same time not a must have.
