It's nice to see the brown nosing shanalynch echo chamber still merrily toe-ing the company line.

No doubt this is the worst drafting front office regime for positional need in the league.

Since when was WR or RB a need? Just Shanny's nervous tick messing everything up again.

From the moment we went off the rails for Shanny's skill fetish, at least 17 offensive lineman were drafted by other, rational, competent front office decision makers.

Including at least two centers.

And drafting a QB? Are you serious? This is how you negotiate? Peanuts level maturity.

Hope the D picks work out. They seem reasonable. Fingers crossed for Mykels ankle.

Even if he turns out be another Ray McD, still huge win for this group.

We continually bungle positional need -- just can't get over it.

There was a stacked Oline class? Where?

49ers went at the strength of the draft and their weakness. The OL class was awful. With that said, I'd rather they go all OL in the 7th.

Last year was stacked. This year thin. Next year looks much better. At least at the top so far.

Great draft. The Niners are only Superbowl contenders with an elite defense.

Quick thoughts.

I love the reloaded/rejuvenated defensive line. I think they found possibly 5 starters even 6 if Sigle steps up. Certainly rotational pieces at worst.

I'm not sold on Martin and Upton staying healthy as they are smaller guys, but I see their upside. The Defense could gel into a top 10 unit by the end of the year if everyone stays healthy so I'm excited to see.

Special teams also looks improved with some of the later selections. Very good.

I didn't like the rb and wr in the 4th/5th. The QB was a wasted pick. This is where I would have loved some o line prospects.

So it looks like our o line is easily the biggest weakness now that they addressed the defense. I get the next draft is always there, but the odds they actually stay healthy is next to zero as well.

4th most YPG last year with Trent Williams and Aaron Banks missing half the year. Oh and no McCaffery or Aiuyk.

Top 3rd in the league in pressure rate and sacks allowed.

This was not the year to spend premium picks on offensive linemen

Agree with all of this.

My thoughts:

Mykel - good pick, can be boring to some because of lack of explosion, but I like the player and value was good

Collins- a slight reach, do like the player. I am on board so far. Stop the run, stop the run. Versatile guy could be fun with him and Mykel moving around the line
B+

Martin - huge reach, dont like the player. Terrible value as Chris Paul jr went two rounds later. They needed a starting WLB and they drafted only one LB who is himself a health question mark. Yikes. Bad pick imo. Speed is great but tackling is more important. We already have Dee Winters
D

Stout - another reach. player is intriguing, but these type of players are more of fliers. they had a similar player in Womack, and he was a 5th rounder. him being undersized was baked into his value, so bad value pick but if he can be a slot contributor, Im fine with it. Still I think he couldve been gotten in the fifth instead. Higher grade because I like the player and his tenacity

B-

CJ West - fair value, good player. Nothing too flashy but I like the pick. High floor on run stop.
A-

Jordan Watkins - the Cam Latu/AJ Jenkins of this draft. Not impressed by the player although he does have experience, terrible value. the "WTF you doing Kyle" pick. I wouldnt be surprised if this guy ends up with a medical redshirt this season...

Jordan James - low center of gravity runner, can break tackles. I can see why Frank Gore would like this guy. solid value, decent player with a limited upside.

Sigle- a flier who is more of a slot/FS with some good measurables. This is the type of picks you make in 5th round. Good value, I like the player and value is spot on. Missed tackles and playing inside the box can be problematic, ie T. Moore type of guy. I can live with missed tackles from FS if he can cover
A-

Rourke - roflcopter. Pointless pick imo. If you need a QB body get him as UDFA
D

Colby - zone heavy project, at this point Ill take any lineman, even Kwame Harris or Marcus Martin (*shudders*)
B+ for actually grabbing an olineman in the draft

Junior Bergen - this KR pick just like the QB pick are unnecessary luxury picks that make little sense. Does he even make the roster just off KR/PR skills ? Value doesnt matter its the end of 7th, whatever I guess, but Id take someone with some upside or something ?

C+

Theme of draft: big guys on dline, small speed guys everywhere else. Martin, Stout, Bergen, even Watkins seem undersized

overall grade and thoughts: I like what they did with the dline, even though you may not see explosive players.
I hate them not addressing the oline systemically. It was to be expected but still I do not like it. Surprising in a bad way to only grab one LB and reach for him big time, and he might not even start. Greenlaw leaving was a bad, bad event. No TE contingency plan in a deep TE draft if something to happen to George, is also something concerning to me.

B, maybe B-

They were never going to fix both sides of the trenches. You can only realistically pick one side. 3 tackles went in the top 10 and edge players dropped to them.

They're doing what the Rams did. Rebuilt their defense completely after Aaron Donald left. The goal is to win the division and make the playoffs like the Rams did. Superbowl is obviously unrealistic when you have that much dead cap and too many departures in the offseason

Not bad except I would switch grades with Martin and Stout. I wouldn't mind if they went two LBs... rather they took Chris Paul over Stout. I think OT Chase Lundt was still available when they selected Stout, but instead they got a "little" too cute with the pick

Rourke pick was sus, I would've preferred Brady Cook.

I like that we got a lot better at defensive line. Interior and edge. Also added LB who is a playmaker to the front 7. Also added some speed at S which is needed. Some WR speed added and a RB for depth. Some good things.

But in no way can you honestly watch our offensive line play the last few years and think we don't need anything there. We literally waited until 7th - 33 - 249 overall to pick our one and only offensive linemen. He is big and versatile. But talk about putting offensive linemen on the ignore button. Wait until the second to last pick we have. We need a lot more of these guys. Early and often. LG is a big question mark. C is sub par. LT is getting older and may be gone to retirement soon. We have McKivitz who is not great but has improved. The one young STUD is Puni at RG. This is not a great offensive line though. It falls into shambles if TW is hurt and has in the past. Same if he retires after this year.

You are not a serious team if you put the offensive line on total ignore button until the 2nd to last pick. I think you need a new regime before they take offensive line seriously.

Chase Lundt (there were probably a couple more solid olinemen) is not a premium pick, but choosing a 5'3 CB with second 3rd rd over him is questionable to say the least
