Another run support first player.

They're not prioritizing coverage so far in these DBs - they're all very good as run stopping. Would imagine they want great tacklers. I think the guys that excel in coverage will come in the draft.

My biggest concern is the defensive line.
there'd no way you can leave this draft with 3 starters. 2 DT and a DE. It just doesn't work that way. That's also forcing you to draft those needs very early and ignore all other needs.

Well I guess you have to be a good tackler if you can't cover anyone. Weird, I always thought the job of a defensive back to actually prevent completions. I had it wrong all these years.

Well said.

I've been saying this for the last two days.

"We have 11 draft picks we're fine!" is NOT a plan. It just isn't. Not a single draft pick is proven. None. They each have a sub-50% chance of even working out at all. And that's for the early rounds. And literally every team has draft picks.

Putting all our eggs into the draft basket instead of actual proven talent is going to screw us so hard and finish this team's window off for good. At least we had a great run of… zero Super Bowl wins!

This. There is so much coping going on in this thread, and people are losing sight of reality. We are rebuilding. There will be lots of pain for the next two or three seasons at least.
This is shaping up to be one of the greatest draft classes ever ! We have so many holes to fill no one gets cut in 2025!

I know it stinks to lose good (formerly great players). It's nothing like how we felt when Ronnie Lott wasn't resigned, or Craig (Eddie was mad he fumbled), Ricky Watters getting more money with the Eagles, Haley to the Cowboys, or even Joe and Jerry past their prime going elsewhere.

If this is the direction we're going, cutting players on the decline, but hitting with youth in the draft that's fine. All the past championship teams had stability with a great QB and solid coaching. Sign Brock and let's see what happens, it might/should be ok. It's a young man's league.

I don't know how many times I need to say it:

If the draft falls perfectly for us, and the stars align and everything goes well… we might end up with Mason Graham. Might.

Mason Graham has played zero NFL snaps and proven nothing.

He's not going to be super man and come in here and make this team a contender. Much less in his first season.

This fanbase is coping so hard that it's convincing itself a bunch of mystery box rookie draft picks (which literally 31 other teams have by the way) is going to come in here and save the day!

I've got some news for you: that's not happening.

This is laughable for more reasons than I can count. There's actually pretty good consensus that this year's draft is lacking top-end talent. And regardless, no one has any clue how this class will shake out.

We have talented pass coverage corners. We lack run stuffing and pass rush d line. Our corner aren't a problem besides lack of depth and guys who can reliably play ST.

we need run stopping big time.

Not that I'll enjoy it, because I want this team to actually win, but part of me can't wait for this fanbase to go full-blown shocked Pikachu face when 9 out of 11 of these rookies contribute nothing, one plays a little and maybe one turns out to be semi-decent, resulting in a net gain of about zero wins.

Hopefully our FO learns very quickly that "it's okay we have DRAFT PICKS!!! 😇" is not a sound strategy.

Exactly no one knows so there's a chance of the opposite right? This draft might be filled with top end talent. Remember when everyone touted the Lawrence, Jones, Fields, Lance draft as the greatest QB draft ever? No one knows anything

Top end talent… that quite literally is very other team is also getting.
We had a potential championship team with talent all over the roster. We went for the (understandable) strategy of paying whatever it takes to keep the gang together. Last season we got a painfully poor return on that strategic investment.

Just because a plan doesn't work out, doesn't mean it wasn't a reasonable choice at the time. But you do have to reassess.

This looks like something between a rebuild and a retool. I highly doubt we can be championship-level this coming season. But if you are paying Brock, and believe in him, we have years ahead with which to challenge, and need to honour that.

This team had its chance, and sadly didn't take it. Time to recalibrate.
There are still some very good veterans who remain unsigned.

Amari Cooper
Branding Cooks
Tykee Lockett
Von Miller
Matthew Judon
Demarcus Lawrence
Za'Darius Smith
Tyron Smith
Jedrick Wills
Kendall Fuller
Justin Simmons

That's just naming a few. Let's see what happens during the next wave of Free Agency
