Joey has played in 28 games over last 3 years. At least Floyd could stay on the field.

It almost seems impossible that this might actually happen. Can't be real.

Yeah… the fact that it's Maiocco reporting that makes me nervous. I love the idea of Nick/Floyd/Joey as a trio. I hate the idea of Nick/Joey with no edge depth. There's like an 80% chance we'll have to rely on whoever edge rusher #3 is for a significant portion of the season.

Same.

I love the novelty of it but it just doesnt fit the need right now.

There is no chance they don't address edge in the draft somehow, even if UDFA. They've always done a good job staying ahead of their key free agent losses.

OT has been the only spot they haven't been able to protect themselves properly and it's because of extreme expectations at the position and not having high enough picks to grab someone they consider worth it.

I think it fits the need big time actually. It's all about the money Joey would want.

You don't sign guys expecting them to miss time but given our history we definitely have to hedge our bets across the board. Whether the draft, other FAs we need a good stable of edge rushers to keep everyone fresh. Nothing against the guy but I don't want to see Robert Beal on the roster(unless it's on the PS)

I would go further. Joey at this point in his career is the "depth" and not a starter anymore.

If the money is right why not? As good of an idea as anything else as far as personnel is concerned.

Put him in the rotation. Assault by numbers.

Signing Joey is fine.

It's signing Joey and then dumping Floyd that concerns me.

That's why they get paid the big bucks. Glad it's not me making these decisions.

If they think that much of Floyd, they'll make it work.

Off season is still very very early, llots of time to add another DE and I guarantee they do in the draft.

Well think of it as the team is trying to get younger and less bloated contracts.
Joey doesn't fit the first one and we shall see about the second one.

There are a few teams out there that pay ridiculous contracts in FA.

Perhaps Joey wants to be on a contender and would consider something more team friendly. (I know the niners arent going to be widely considered a contender yet with this years favorable schedule it could very well happen.)

i doubt Joey will be a Niner. Lynch says he wants to get younger, cheaper, and healthier. Joey Bosa is none of those three

Sign him for cheap and throw him in the rotation.
