Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

It maybe due to how severe the injuries are. We would probably bring them in if both are out for the year

True true. But they put Kinlaw on I.R. and knew AA would be out for a while esp. given he didn't even fly with the team. Maybe, like us, they weren't expecting ATL to abuse us inside even with our backups.

Maybe he'll make a move if we get stung there again.

I think it's obvious with both, Suh wants too much money, and Nkemdiche just isn't that good, they saw him, and he was one of their first cuts like Dennard was.

They cut all the veterans immediately and went with youth knowing most of the veterans they could add to the PS or speed dial. I think that was strategy more than their indictment of their play...Tashaun Gipson is a good example of that.

But those are just 2 guys. There's a whole slew of them. Roughly 75 other options and by now, they have to be extra cheap.

They've been re-reading all the posts you've made constantly pre-injuries that said we have too many DLinemen. They'd hate for you to go back to that well, so no bueno.

Regardless of the injuries right now, I'd still be looking at someone like Payne. Kinlaw can't be counted on going forward and AA is awesome, but not getting any younger

That's kind of where I'm at too. They did add T.Y. McGill to the PS a couple weeks ago. Maybe they call him up soon? On the original 53, the ER was super deep but we knew inside, after the two starters there 'might' be some questions. Now that we're 7 weeks in, some of these dudes should be really cheap esp. if we just get a plugger to hold ground at 1T.

He wasnt kidding when he said the acquistion of CMC wasnt going to solve their problems. They zoomed in on him in his box early in the game and looked worried af. He knew what was about to go down. i guess thats better than not knowing.

Bill B just pulled the plug and the hook on Mac Jones tonight.

Maybe Lynch should trade Lance to Mac straight up if Bill is sending Mac to the dumpster.

I think we can have both mac and trey next year. we can have a real competition and may the best man win. they would probably let him go with a mid round pick
