Yeah, I don't buy that report. I think the team knows it has bigger holes and they'll address accordingly.

I'd be fine with Fournette at #2 if Garrett is gone and we can't get a decent trade. Even if all we get is an extra 3rd for moving down a few spots I'd be fine.

That whole trade value chart means nothing.

I wouldn't say nothing, just not everything. I'd be cool taking fournette, but with the Shanahans background, the highest I think they'd go is second(Mike took Portis who worked out great and Bell who gave them 1k one year but didn't turn out to be special) or a mini trade up to late first if Shanny wants someone like McAff.
I think if we were going fournette, would could risk it and trade down a few spots and gain a couple picks from whoever reaaaaally wants Allen or whoever at #2
Will Lynch be calling the shots come draft day?

He has the 90 so yes. But I doubt any player comes in without shanahan approval.

Absolutely! Of course Kyle will be very involved as well.

It should be the Titans making the move to #2. They face and are competing against Luck/O'Brien for the division. They need Jared Allen and try to establish a force on their DLine. If Marcus takes the next step, get another WR the Titans can become an AFC competitor.

I got the fattest smile ever on my face lmao, can you picture the zone reaction. I'd be like alright well I guess Jimmy is staying out at CB bahahagagagaga.

They might have to do some kind of IMDB message board shutdown, atleast for 24 hours to quarantine the pain between the backside cheeks that would ensue.

But Wu would be happy...

A year later everyone will be thanking me. 20-30, wait til he kills the combine. Get your popcorn ready

Not the first pick though.

If we had a need at SS/WILL I'd say he would be a solid candidate to trade up with our second. Ray-Ray is not playing around and he's gonna lock up that WILL spot watch.

Looks like we do with questions arising with Ward. According to Bucky latest mock the safety's are going quick like hot cakes. He got us picking Malik, if we are thinking or everyone goes Safety early. Take Jabrill

He has Jabrill going #7 to the Chargers. His stock is going to boom up once he kills the draft. Some are taking notice..

Listening to Lynch, he nailed it IMHO. If you read between the lines (no pun intended), he notes the following:
  • Kyle Shanahan has provided very detail accounts of what he is specifically looking for from each position (including defense, of which Lynch was very impressed with) so that those players can fit into the whole system perfectly (i.e. very Bill & Bill-like)
  • WR's are very hard to evaluate b/c they only run a couple routes these days (d/t the spread offensive trends) so you have to project based on certain "traits"
  • QB, same concept (I detailed Kyle's check list of ideals several times); the first 6 QB's are all expected to be spread QB's
  • Then he also touches on OL, for this same concept (Baalke noted the same).
  • So this spread/air raid trend in college is really making it harder to project into the NFL so teams are forced to project based on certain traits

As a result, my guestimate is that we'll hit FA much harder for the following positions this year:
  • Bridge QB's
  • OL
  • WR's

In the draft, we'll probably target way more on defense:
  • ER, NT, ILB, CB & S

So buy the ready-made offense in free agency and draft the defense. A QB like Trubisky may still be drafted (as well as a fit-QB like Peterman) b/c of the specific traits or pro-style college experience that translate well into the WCO but expect years of development still (2-3 years at least) before they see the field.

John Lynch told 49ers fans to stay awake next week during free agency: "We need players."

Good thing there are a lot of good edge rushers in the drafts, CB's and S's.

I think we'll buy some ILB's b/c they are pretty cheap!
