It's crazy. Fans really believe Lynch and Shanahan don't talk to Garoppolo. Fans convince themselves they know everything that is going on. These are the same fans who posted clown twitter accounts with sources as legit info.

That crap is so annoying.

I feel JG would have performed better w/a better OLine.

His major short-comings are lack of deep ball consistency and injuries.

I still feel JL/KS will pull a major move before the season starts.

Well like I said in the Kirk Cousins thread, if they're gonna trade for someone just go balls out and do it already. Stop trying to low ball teams and just go all in, two 1st round picks and some change and make it happen. Jimmy G. should also ask for a trade if they're gonna keep looking for QB's.

I would have loved to have seen Stafford on this team but two first rounders and change was a pretty hefty price to pay. At that point, you may as well save up your draft ammo and go all in on a QB in the draft if there's one that they particularly like. Hit on the right guy and you wind up with 10-15 years of a QB as well as three years on a cheap rookie deal that allows you to retain other players.

Literally just sit down for 10 seconds close your eyes and imagine the 49ers ever drafting a QB.

A pipe dream is what it is.

I may not be Jimmy's biggest fan but it looks like he's our QB for 2021 so I'm behind him as much as I can be. I hope he can stay healthy and return to the 2019 player. Even though he wasn't awesome, he at least was reliable enough to keep the team in the game. That also means keeping the receivers and RBs healthy. We are due to have an year with fewer injuries. I also hope he isn't affected by all the talk of him getting replaced.

Jimmy will be THE BEST QB for us.

I get what he's saying, but the Brady example is not a good one. When probably the best QB of all time becomes available and you don't already have a R. Wilson or Mahomes, you had better at least have internal conversations about signing him. It would be disappointing to me as a fan if they didn't.

Add in that Brady grew up in the Bay Area and was a Niners fan...the thought of coming back to this area towards the end of his career could have been appealing to him and the team knows that.

I'm not sure just how much this relationship is souring. The media speculating and stirring the pot is more likely to me with sources saying the Stafford trade was imminent with the 49ers. Later we find out no offer was made for Stafford, especially after they learned the price was out of range even with Carolina offering their #8 this year. GMs should always look to improve the team and strike when the deal is good. Stafford deal was not good. Watson deal probably won't be good if it even happens.

I think a lot of fans are misinterpreting ShanaLynch's quest for a backup QB as a sign of dissatisfaction with Jimmy. They see ShanaLynch talking to Detroit about Matt, scouting QB's in college, etc... and think Jimmy is on the out with them, when really all they are looking at is the *backup QB* position. Not only was Jimmy injured, but so was Mullens - so it makes sense to look at the backup QB position from a health standpoint, and also a cap standpoint as both BeatHard and Mullens are heading to the free agency market this year.
