Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

This guy gets it. No pressure here. If a QB is the best player in the draft then take him but don't know the future for a guy who hasn't improved the team he's on. Look at the 4 years before he arrived to the 4 since, they are essentially the same record

Okay i've come to accept that we're probably not getting Watson. Some other team can sacrifice their future. I hope we either fell in love with a good or have a really good plan to make sure Jimmys chances are maximized.

Any GM that does that signs their own death warrant in the nfl. When the team performs as the Texans have for the last 4 years they will find themselves out of a job. He's a borderline top 10 QB and people talking about him like he's Tom Brady

The draft comp for the Lions has NOTHING to do with Stafford and everything to do with Detroit eating Goff's awful contract.

Dee Ford. Kwon Alexander. Matt Breida lol. We were good enough to overcome that however.
