Lynch is doing the exact opposite of what the Rams have been doing. Making the unsexy and unpopular moves but thinking long term instead of instant gratification. Time will tell if it pays off. This offseason feels like they're thinking long term. I think priority number 1 next off season will be and should be linemen.

LOL. Sorry, Staley. This FO doesn't exactly have that want-to-win-now type of mindset right now.

Thanks for everything!
This draft will forever be judged by how the combo of Lamb or Juedy and Blacklock do compared to our combo of Aiyuk and Kinlaw.

It's gotta say something that the next DT was taken almost a full round later after Kinlaw.

I mean if they make a trade for Williams that probably means there is some truth to the Staley retirement rumors. I hope Staley comes back but if he retires getting Trent Williams isn't a bad replacement.

Not possible, his base salary just became fully GTD on April 1.
How would Joe Staley retiring affect the cap? According to Over the Cap, trading Staley before June 1 saves a bunch of cap, while cutting him before June 1 would destroy our cap. Is it the former or the latter? Or neither?

By retiring we'd save about $10M, we can't cut him period, his $10.55M base salary is fully GTD as of April 1st.
The fact that we're inquiring about Williams means that Staley is strongly considering retirement.

Why in the world would we cut a O-lineman?

Not to mention a all time great 49er like Staley????

We need O-line talent ASAP. (See Super Bowl)
