He is in year 3 of 4. He will not be a FA until 2018. He is eligible for a contract extension - hence the posturing.

Don't be surprised to see Shaun Droughn on the roster. He was in Cleveland with Shanahan.

A lot of great RBs in the draft. 5 that I really like:
- McCaffrey would obviously make a great receiving RB.
- Dalvin Cook is much better than Freeman coming out of college.
- Corey Clement is an elite talent, just hasn't been durable (so may be ideal for time share).
- Jamaal Williams looks like a great big bruising back.
- And finally you have Jeremy McNichols from Boise who has all the makings of one of those 3rd/4th round backs that ends up being very productive in the NFL.

Well, in fairness to GB fans Lacy needs a change of diet.
Can't show up fat and unmotivated and expect the fans to show you love. Sure, he has potential but at this point that's all he has (besides a healthy appetite).
Not sure if he's a good fit for Shanny's system.

Understood. But that wasn't his issue this year. He was injured after performing well. I think reducing his and Hyde's workload in a shared backfield would really increase both of their production.
