This. Different avenues to get a franchise QB. Some are acquired via top draft picks, some aren't.

Look at our own HOF QBs. Montana drafted in the 3rd. Young acquired via trade.

Everybody loves Packers execs. Look what they did. Acquired Favre (former 2nd rd pick) via trade. Drafted Rodgers bottom half of 1st rd. Former Packer exec now Raiders GM McKenzie drafted Derek Carr in the 2nd.

Starts with a great front office. Get the right coaches in here who can identify and develop quality QBs.

Steve Young's just bitter that Denise will not offer him any, I mean any role in the 9ers organization. One should discount stuff said by a bitter hater.

Why would we scream about any QB at 2. This draft is worse than last years for QB. And no QB this year as of right now would have gone before goff

Funny how everyone said last year that next year would be the year for QB. Truth is no one knows and the 9ers desperately need a QB. I am guessing that QB goes #1 after it is all said and done.

Steve Young knows more football than anyone in here or anyone currently in the Niners organization so I dont think we should discount his opinion simply because Denise wont offer him a job.

I agree. Unless the Niners trade for Jimmy G I fully expect them to take Trubisky if he is available at #2.

I think the more important thing to have a successful QB is the system and personnel. We have had a turnstile at OC for a few years and then an offense that wasn't pass oriented to an offense that did not value ball control or OL blocking (chip).

When we have had an OC for more than 2 years, we have had basic passing offenses.

Incredible. The longest we have had the same system in the past 12 years has been only for 3 years.

No wonder our passing game has sucked.

Sb here we come!!!! We need a general manager that isn't stubborn and will overspend for players that we need to provide a championship run or at least be competitive. Having a team with the most salary cap doesn't do anything for the team or the fans.

if we took a chance on a unknown.... I agree... but York wants a superbowl yesterday. It's proven that the Yorks don't do business well like the Steelers and stick with a man bc you believe... they want a quick fix and unless we find Abraham that can bring mana from the heavens we are in a rough ride. As I see it we can't even prove who we are. Are we a Defence that makes you pay or a offence who scores and keeps you off the field. Personally we are more lost then Nolan and Singletary, at least they could draft and bring toughness. At this point it is criticle we find the right GM and Head Coach and when we do, dont fire them.... believe and watch.

She has done a wonderful job running the team, the team sure has thrived under her watch. Why should she listen to someone like Young, what would he know about 49er football or success?
