Do you think Chip returns to Oregon?

I say no for the exact reason some of the posters dislike Chip: ego. The man believes and needs to prove to himself and others that he belongs. Like it or not, he is getting some good play out of Kaepernick right now. He may feel that he has his QB, that he needs more weapons on offense, and that he must totally revamp the Defense. He could do that in a year with some money and a little luck. If he fails, he may go back to college after next season.
First off, I don't think it will happen. But for the sake of discussion, if the 49ers fire Baalke, and the new GM wants his own coach, then it has a chance. I'm also not so sure Kelly's system works in the pros. That being said, he has only been here a year. If he had two seasons like this one, it would be much more likely.
P.J. Fleck will be named the next Oregon HC

Mmmm, yes, I think so. We need a new DC. Anytime soon. I really don't know bout Kaepernick but it would be nice not to have to spend a high pick on his immediate replacement. Plenty of money for FA's and some high picks? Once this season is out of the way this may not be such a bad place for Chip.

I seriously doubt he leaves. I think he's seen his offenae have success with less than desirable pieces. Chip believes he can be great with the right personnel.

If Jed fires Baalke then Gamble will be promoted. Gamble will keep Kelly. If Jed keeps Baalke Kelly stays.

I dont think theres too much of a question of what happens with the FO or Chip beyond whether or not Baalke is fired. The biggest questions are whats going to happen with our DC and draft/FA

This. Doubt he leaves on his on and Jed already has a s**tty reputation. If he fires chip it will only get worse and no coach will want to come here. He needs to coach a year or two more. Can't can him after one year.
Wishful Thinking
As a Duck fan, and a Niner fan, I think it could be a win, win.

So just so I'm clear, you honestly think there's a serious chance that Chip goes back to Oregon?

This would make us look really, really bad...

If he just gets up and leaves... is any HC candidate going to want to come here after the Harbaugh drama, one year firing of Tomsula after a 5-11 season, and now Chip Kelly exiting on his own after a year?

It would look bad BUT it's a HC job...a SF HC job. We had both Mike's in serious contention last year, Jackson and his buddy badly wanted to come here, Gase, Kelly wanted to walk across the country for this job, etc.

No doubt we'll have our pick of the crop. If this happens though, we better find a HC who's into power football to match our personnel. It would also be a nice chance to upgrade the DC without drama (hehe).

What do expect him to say? He's certainly not going to campaign for another job during the season.

I can see this and I agree with that sound logic! Ego.
