Worst team 2004 niners or 2016 niners ?

You guys are crazy.... The 2004 team was one of the worst teams I've ever seen assembled while alive. I'm surprised they even won a couple of games honestly. That team couldn't move the sticks AT ALL. At least we have Kaep, Hyde, McDonald, Smith, Staley, Brown,Bowman, Buck, Lynch, Reid,Ward, Dawson,etc.... 2004 was a terrible team. This team is dysfunctional

I got 3 wins to 2 for the 2004 team, with this one being my favorite nail biter having Todd Peterson nail the FG in OT. Would have been better if it was Jose Cortez.

This team is historically the worse niner team of all time

Hmmm. Does a 13 game losing streak factor in? This is a close one.
For the sake of symmetry, we're likely to finish 2-14 with both wins coming off a sweep of a division opponent.
Lets not forget the 17 players currently on injured reserve. You cant lose around a third of your active roster and not expect it to impact.
2004 was worse. At least this 2016 team has been killed by injuries and under performance. 2004 was just an awful, talentless team.
2004 17
2016 13
04 hands down, that team was so talentless it amazed me how we won 2 games. This team even though it's missing talent at the key positions dealt with major injuries and dumb coaching yet they could've still won more than 2 games if they were consistent and there was no such thing as 2nd halves in football LOL

IMO

Erickson/Donahue had an excuse, zero cap space with a practice squad roster.

Kelly/Baalke, 40 million in cap space with mid tier talent roster, on paper should have been enough to net 6-7 wins.

Tomsula with a lesser roster had more wins than Kelly, that's pathetic.

16' has set all time records in futility that the 04' team couldn't sniff....
Lack of talent > dysfunction

2016 19
2004 17

Attendance 56,231
I am holding off on my Worst 49er Team Ever poll until the end of the season but this team is certainly a contender.
The 2004 team was better than the 2016 team but the 2005 team still I think is statistically worse than either.

2004 team ranked 26th in yards gained and 24th in yards allowed, 2016 ranks 29th and 32nd in those categories.

Defensively, we are worse. But offensively we are better. I mean, didn't alex throw 1 td to 11 interceptions and barely have 2,000 yards? gore ran for 600 as a backup, and that was about it...

I remember scoring only field goals and hardly ever even moving the ball...what a terrible season haha...

this one, is bad because the run defense, and how we completely disappear in the 2nd half when most of our games we were close or winning before half time.

idk...pretty crazy.
